Mr. Maltalban is a handsome, very classy gentleman! What an all round talent from old Hollywood! He carries himself so well. Loved many of the parts he played. A wonderful, athletic dancer in earlier movie parts...wow! Married to his beautiful wife for over 50 years!

A great actor and one of my favorites. We never missed "Fantasy Island" growing up at the time. I was 12 when I first viewed his portrayal of Khan in "Space Seed" in 1967. How awesome it was for this old Trekkie to see Mr. Montalban return in "The Wrath Of Khan". This was a great clip and my thanks for uploading it.

Loved and respected this man and his work. Never saw or heard him in a demeaning role about Hispanics or Indians he portrayed. Always a class act. And his voice was as wonderful as his looks. I miss him, God bless his soul.

I just read that it was a BS marketing gimmick that the leather originated in Corinth. In reality, that leather originated in the ancient Mecca of luxury and style known as 'New Jersey'!

How did I miss this spot? I loved Ricardo Montalban's work on Star Trek and Fantasy Island. A truly classy actor and a personable man. He worked with Agnes Moorehead (Endora from Bewitched) and Edward Mulhare (Devon from Knight Rider)? That's a combination that I would've liked to see.

You can watch Fantasy Island on the CTV app, or on the Tubi app, or on KZbin. I’ve been watching it myself on CTV. The video quality isn’t very good on KZbin, though. I was 16 when it first aired in the 70’s and I still love it. I sure miss Ricardo, though, God rest his soul. And my son likes him in those Spy Kids movies where he played the grandpa.

@@MadamOst Well, it was a great movie and I saw it many times, as a trek lover. But each to their own. My favorite Star Trek movie is still The Search for Spock. It was filled with love, loyalty, and sacrifice. When it came out in June of 1984 I couldn’t get enough of it for some reason. I also saw it many times but I’m not going to tell how many times I saw it. And btw, I have LOVED Fantasy Island since I was16 and I am now 60 and still love it, AND Wrath of Khan, AND The Search for Spock. Ricardo Montalbań was a wonderful, talented, consummate actor, a total professional, who was loving and kind towards his fellow actors and other human beings. I wish I could have met him at some con or other before he passed. RIP Mr. Montalban!

I was a regular watcher of this NBC version of Letterman's show (as opposed to the earlier daytime version and the later CBS version) and I happened to be watching the night this interview originally aired in '87. That was the only time I've seen this interview until watching this clip, but remembering Ricardo talk about doing the Cordoba commercials and being forced to mispronounce it always made me chuckle. He seemed to have a great sense of humor.
