After a happy meal, if there is a dessert that can make you happier, it has to be Kheer! India is known for different versions of Kheer like Rava Kheer, Sevaiyan, Chane Dal ka kheer etc, however one Kheer which is predominantly made all over, has to be Rice Kheer. And with Karva Chauth around, it’s the best time to cook it so that you can break your fast with some delicious Rice Kheer! Recipe:
Cooking Time: 35-40 Minutes
Calories: Approx. 500/ Bowl
Ingredients:
2 Cups of Full Cream Milk
1 Cup Condensed Milk
2-4 Tsp Chopped Cashews
2-3 Tsp Raisins
2-4 Tsp Chopped Almonds
A Pinch of Kesar
2-4 Small Elaichi
A Handful of Rice
Method:
Take 2 Cups of Full Cream Milk in a heated pan or vessel for boiling. Take care that the milk shouldn’t overflow. Add 1 Cup Condensed Milk to the milk and keep stirring and let it boil for 5-10 Minutes. As the milk is getting boiled, add 2-4 tsp Chopped Cashews, 2-3 Tsp Raisins, 2-4 Tsp Chopped Almonds and a pinch of Kesar and mix well. Take 2-4 small elaichi and grind it roughly. Add it to the milk and mix well. Add one handful of washed and dried Rice. Set the gas flame to a low setting. Cover the lid and let it cook for 15-20 Minutes. Serve Hot!
