Guys, you have both played directly into Isayama’s hands. Isayama actually went and broke the fourth wall with the scene where he has the fatty guard say “cruelty is interesting.” He looked directly at us, the audience when he said that. When you cheered for his death, that exactly proves him right. Even Kruger said “is it fun to watch?” As both of you were thinking of cruel ways to kill him

I love every time I get the opportunity to explain the fat guard's monologue. So they all traveled to a giant wall on the bank of the island, which we now know is the island where Eren and everybody lives. If the area they live has three walls, then this new boat dock on the island is the "fourth" wall. Next, the fat guard's speech is all about why we find death and suffering so interesting. He monologues as he injects one of the Eldians, all while *staring into the "camera"*. I repeat, the guard makes eye contact with us, the viewers, on the fourth wall essentially asking why we find violence and cruelty so interesting. This is the author's self-insert into the story, breaking the fourth wall, basically asking us why we watch the show!

S3 part 2 was really insane!! I love rewatching these eps with reactors and so much more with you guys, let's go to the next one!!
(no spoilers in this comment. Feel free to read, it's kinda long tho lmao) I'll point out important information you need to remember: * Eldians are also called Subjects of Ymir and they are considered "devil bloods" because "according to Marley" Ymir made a contract with the devil. * The eldians are the only ones able to be turned into titans or be Titan shifters. * The island or Paradis (pronounced pa-ra-dee) is where the walls are. There are also special natural resources in the island that Marley needs. * Speaking of the walls, they are made by tons and tons of titans as a threat to the world, to create a false "peace" since no one dares to face the release of those titans. * Zeke is Eren's half brother, and he has royal blood. So he is one of the few Eldians able to use the founding Titan fully. * Since the Eldians oppressed and killed many civilizations around the world, they are globally hated. The world think they are better if all the Eldians were dead. * Fun fact: Every titan from Grisha's group appear in season 1, from the titan that ate Thomas, to the titan that almost ate Armin but actually ate Eren (the one bald with a beard, also called "Santa Titan" lol). * There were originally 9 titans. Marley got 7, so there are 2 who are "free". The nine titans that you've seen are: 1 Founding Titan, 2 Armoured titan, 3 Colossal Titan, 4 Beast Titan, 5 Female Titan, (titans whose names haven't been revealed yet ahead) 6 Eren's titan, 7 Ymir's titan (season 2), 8 Four-legged titan with a backpack, 9 ???? (Zero info about this titan yet). * Out if those nine titans, Marley got 7 and gave them to the warriors, like Zeke, Reiner, Bert, Annie, and others (beast, armoured, colossal, female). The other 2 that didn't get controlled were the founding Titan (it was in control of the Royal family in the island of Paradis) and the Eren's titan (no info about this one yet 👀👀)

So I hadn't noticed this until now, and it's not clear from the subtitles but when Gross says "The extermination of every last Eldian in the world is a dream that all humanity shares", a part of his sentence in Japanese, is "この世から一匹残らず駆逐する", which is literally what Eren said at the end of Season 1 Episode 2 when he says he wants to exterminate all the titans.

Crazy how the Attack and founding titans are the ones that gotten away the founding was on Paradise island and the Attack was wandering Marley without them knowing till it fell on grisha now in Paradis.

The voice acting, the story writing, the animation are all top notch. Some might not agree due its cruel and twisted plot but this is the best written story in anime history other than fullmetal alchemist brotherhood & one piece.

I came to notice that most reactors don't recognize Dina's titan when she transforms in the first shot because of the weird angle and her face but in the 2nd shot where she walks away everyone is losing it haha

The little titan you recognised was the one that ate Lina Carolina. She was the mikasa lookalike with pigtails whos wire gets grabbed and sges slammed into the wall. Part of Erens graduate rookie squad that got wiped out along with Thomas (killed by jumping titan) The little titan reappeared in the supply room when Sasha fails to kill it and Mikasa has to finish it off to save her. Also the grandpa/Santa titan that ate Eren was part of that restoration group too.

When this part of the story started to be revealed, the walls were not the last humans trying to survive, the bigger world outside of it, the titan origin story, Eren's father, the titan that killed Eren's mother. And so much more in the last 4 episodes of S3. I was blown away. Such a great anime.

yup. lots of mindblowing info in this episode: Zeke, Eren's half-brother; Dina, the titan that killed Eren's mom (how crazy is that). and the titan that you think you saw was the one Mikasa killed in season 1 that Sasha failed to kill in that elevator. and also, if you noticed, the bearded titan was the one who nearly ate Armin and ate Eren instead in season 1. so, basically, titans are Eldian "traitors" that got turned by Marleyan soldiers.

at exactly 19:04, the old man sitting with them at the table was the old titan who ate Eren where he first turned into a Titan

Seeing how fascinated you are by cruelty is giving Sergeant Major Gross's statement so much power. Every person is the same, because "peace leaves something missing in our lives".

My dude said being Eldian and being able to turn into a man eating Titan would be sick. I predict they might struggle with the Marley vs Paradis themes...let alone what's coming later.

It will be interesting to see how they react to: (SPOILER) Gabi
@piss_blood3191 Жыл бұрын
@@FinneganRiordan *SPOILERS* What’s interesting though is that Sasha spared Gabi’s life, and it comes back to bite her in the ass when Gabi shoots and kills her. I still don’t know what the author was trying to say with that. “Kill or be killed”? “No good deed goes unpunished?” Especially within the context of the story prior to Marley Arc. Ever since the story’s start we’ve been told to “not hold on to ideals” and “the world is a cruel place”. It’s all justified too when we see Sasha’s hesitation to kill Gabi is what proves to be her own undoing. Yet later on in the story, the characters become SUPER idealistic, to the point of naivety, and they’re all rewarded for it.

The irony of this episode always gets me. The eldian restorationists got turned into the titans that we saw burst through shiganshina and wall maria in season 1. The Santa titan that ate eren, the underground titan that almost are Sasha....so good.

Ymir (in real life) is the name of the first Frost Giant a.k.a Jötünn in Norse mythology. It was always funny to me in this show there was a character called Ymir. Of course she was gonna be a Titan. Her name’s the most famous giant in the world.
