I don’t know about rice harvesters, but when you use a combine on wheat, you have the “reel” set at a speed that makes it look like it is pulling the rest of the machine. With the reel set at the speed they are using most of the wheat would be left on the ground. Might be why they loose so much of the harvest.

Not sure of their ability to control the speed of the "reel" (I knew that, just couldn't recall it). I did notice when the increase the engine RPMs the reel also sped up in correlation.

Hey Gary, Our rice is stored away at mom's house. Keep the rats "living and dining" over there! Looking forward to your next video, anticipating the next moves, lol.

Great vid, You mentioned South Dakota being cold, well that time of the year, for sure. It was 29f degrees this morning and first snow in the forecast next week, here in Southeast, South Dakota.

SE, that's where I grew up. Elk Point - Curry Seed Co. was where I worked as a teen, I see Pioneer bought them out a few years ago.

@@ParadiseNThailand Elk Point, cool, am a little bit north of there, in Tea, a couple miles south of Sioux Falls. Retired to here, 22 years ago.

Will you bleach the rice? If so, what’s the process?
@ParadiseNThailand2 ай бұрын
No, we will not bleach it. I think that may be a commercial marketing preference, not sure.

kenny if your thinking of putting in cannals make them snake up and down your land making a car wide mounded soil between and grow what ever you fancy and get a solar pump and pump out one end and put it back in the other end to create a slow flow put fish in and when ready to get crop use a small boat to go up and down you can find stuff like that on youtube

Sounds like a mini-Vience to me. I will suggest it to Somit, but in the end it's her project, so she will get the last vote.

Palm trees like a low strength balanced fertilizer, so if you have something like 8-8-8 or 10-10-10 laying around use that, and you can mix a teaspoon of Epsom salts to 5L of water, spray that on for a bit of a boost. We had a very poor harvest, just got enough for next years seed rice and a couple of sacks to eat, not enough to sell so my missus is out of pocket for ploughing, fertilizer and harvesting. Glad we don't have to rely on farm profits!
@ParadiseNThailand2 ай бұрын
I'll see if I can find some Epsom Salt. Looks to me like Rice Farm would qualify as a Non-profit organization! We are getting rid of the rice after this year.
