My wonderful daughter, Clare and me set off on a 100km (60 mile) non-stop walk to raise funds for the fantastic Farleigh Hospice - a charity very dear to our hearts.
We have an amazing time together walking and talking, reminiscing and shedding a few tears remembering Clare's mom who died in 2015 and in who's memory we do this challenge.
Farleigh Hospice in Essex, England, do amazing work to ease the suffering of their patients and help families through their most difficult times, relying on donations and support from events such as this.

My Mum was in am amazing hospice unit the last three weeks of her life and the staff and the women’s auxiliary treated Mum and us so well. We got to sleep in recliners in her room and were there for all of us day and night. The families were very supportive of each other as well, often bringing meals and treats to share. If anyone in your life needs long term in hospital care, or end of life care and hospice is available be sure to accept. In the meantime donations will surely help . Well done getting the rough walk done. 👍🏻

I must agree with you. Our exposure to the Hospice end of life care was with our beloved first born daughter at the Rowcroft Hospice Torquay. The wonderful staff and volunteers and the other family's there helped us through that hart breaking time. I recommend we all support as we can.

I know from personal experience the loss when a much loved partner passes away. Sadly, I have now lost two wives to serious illness. You never stop loving those dear ones, and I could see the raw emotion in your faces when Clare was talking about why you were doing the challenge. My heart and tears went out to you both. Wow Rich that was just so great ,lovely to meet your daughter Clare what a pair you make. Maybe you did get a few blisters but there weren't any locks to negotiate. I saw Fran at the beginning with the dogs ,I guess she got left behind as no doubt she was scavenging the countryside for mushrooms or something..!00k is quite an achievement you both should be very proud of helping a very worthy cause ,my hearty congratulations. I have in the distant past done a couple of thirty mile charity walks and they were hard so I can only imagine how difficult 100k was! There is a brain tumour charity which hopefully your amazing achievement will have brought attention to absolutely brilliant well done!
