The Chiefs have trailed like 9 minutes all year in the 4th quarter and that was all in the Bengals game and they won. Chiefs don't need to be flashy in the regular season and they aren't going to show you the entire playbook like the Lions do. Side note: watching D Hop against the Raiders was unbelievable. He was open 90% of the time and you know Andy Ried and Mahomes see that on tape. I'm so impressed how good he still is.

Spags is already a hall of famer. That's coming from s Chiefs fan who for a few years had points where it felt like, "they gotta get rid of this guy." Then the byweek would hit and it was like ok, they're playing like a top 10 defense. Credit to Veach and Reid saying, "let's get the kind of guys Spags needs in the draft." The Chiefs shifted from the offense needing to carry the load, which is usually more expensive, to the defense carrying the load. Boomers love the old saying that defense wins football games. Today, that coming true again, but because defensive players are cheaper than offensive players that get all the TV coverage. While some teams are trying to become the Chiefs of 2020... Dolphins, the Chiefs are going a different direction. Chiefs were fast, then they went big, then the defense carried the day, now they're big/fast/ defense still carries the day... then they added Hopkins.

Chiefs offense has put up 26 or more points 5 out of 7 games this year. They are leaning into their stout defense and scoring more than they're allowing. With multiple starters on both sides of the ball - out of action for large chunks of the season. Both sides of the ball will continue to gel and become more consistent. Agree on everything except the last point. Two reasons why Spags shouldn't succeed Reid (not that I'd necessarily suggest Nagy, that's a different conversation): first, he's roughly the same age as Big Red so his tenure is not likely to be very long; and second, the ideal formula for success in the modern NFL is an offensive-minded head coach, a reliable playcaller as his OC/first mate (unless you're Shanahan and just want to do it all yourself), and a defensive mastermind at DC. Spags should 100% be the first man elected to the Hall of Fame as an assistant coach once he does hang it up though.

Think Andy saves certain set plays or variations for critical times in the playoffs. Not 1 or 2 but plans to save certain variations perhaps 10% of the best of all the new variations he thinks up in the off season and during the season. He then uses only the variations that he thinks will setup both from the execution and defensive deception point of view in the regular season. Think like chess you save your best opening ideas to use a lifetime if needed for when you get into the critical match in the world championship run
