There was nothing controversial about the Wilson touchdown except for one manufactured by Day and the announcers. Solid catch with the hands without a bobble, ball broke the plane. The play is over. Touchdown. All the stuff that happened after the ball broke the plane was irrelevant. But even if it had been, Wilson had possession when his knee touched the ground. This was more manufactured than the sign stealing "scandal. "
@Yesquire011 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct. I think OSU fans and boosters in part are conflating the rule about "maintaining possession after contact with the ground" with the definition of a catch where a DB has a hand on the ball along with the receiver. Wilson caught the ball. The DB got a hand in and pulled the ball a bit, but Wilson never lost control of the ball until he hit the ground. But he had three or four strides upright before he was tackled, so losing the ball upon contact with the ground means nothing. If he had 50-50 possession when he broke the plane, its a TD and nothing afterwards mattered.

Completely agree with you KungFu. Anyone still blathering about "scandal" at Michigan can just suck it. Since that tall tale broke, Michigan has nicely vanquished all 5 opponents, the "tough" part of our schedule. It was time for those highly ranked teams to put up or shut up. Now they have lost, fairly and squarely, to mighty Michigan it is time for the coaches, fans, and ADs from MSU, Purdue, PSU, UMD and OSU to just sit down and shut up

@@mikekole I don't care what the NCAA drums up punishment wise. The narrative has already been dismissed. You talk about advantages. Well the NCAA and B1G certainly gave Michigan's two toughest opponents the biggest advantage possible... and they still lost. Anything else they dream up is sour grapes

What I love most about that narrative is the culture that's spurned from Jim being there. I know it's mostly lost in hyperbole when media and players parrot it a lot. But when he went down with the broken leg, in an air cast, starts pumping up the crowd while being driven out, then you get the Harbaugh photo from the hospital with him and his parents, Corum flashing his number after the TD, and he's still wearing his football gloves in the hospital bed. Never took em off while the clock reads that the game was about to be over. Skill can only go so far, but it's incredibly hard to beat a team like "that" on field. Regardless of the caliber of their players.

Cry’n Day spent more time trying to tear down UM off the field and focusing on lining up his “moment” after they win and he can say what he’s been wanting to say. I’m sure he practiced whatever quote he was ready to drop more than going over his game plan. In his head the game plan was to cast the shadow of doubt and once that happened no way he’d lose, right? @samuelgainey833611 ай бұрын
Just type in College Football Final and you can see that segment where Matt had to educate old man Paul on what it meant by vindicate. Paul thought us fans don't believe Stalions did what he did. We fans never said we didn't believe it. We believe it gave no real advantage since every damn team does this. Maybe not to the degree Stalions went but you'd be delusional if you think other teams don't in-person scout. Meyer had no problem saying he hired a scout who's specific job was to watch Michigan. How the hell can you do that without in-person scouting them? Hell I'm not even sure other teams haven't done exactly what Stalions has done outside of using his own damn name to buy tickets. How else could Purdue get Michigan's signs. Ain't nobody getting signs in game. It happens before kickoff.
