The playoffs didn’t set the Giants back. Daboll set them back. Everything went perfect for them that year. Schedule, no injuries and Jones and Barkley had their best year since there first. This was Dabolls first HC position on any level. He didn’t know how to deal with problems when they happen. Great coaches know how to deal with issues when they arrive. His a good coach with the potential to be a great coach. Jones took a step forward when Daboll wasn’t the play caller, now he took a step back. Throw in the recovery from the ACL. Lastly, for some reason Jones is gun shy and scared to pull the trigger. Plus the fire isn’t there. He clearly has the skill set, the speed, the toughness and the practice habits that garner respect from his peers. He’s just not making the throws when it counts.

I have SO wanted to see Daniel succeed…clearly a tough dude mentally and physically…a very good human being, and from all accounts, a great teammate…but this game really did highlight why his time as QB1 for The Giants has come to a close. Certainly he is not solely responsible for this dismal year, but you have to do more than just have some great “moments.” I hope he winds up somewhere and has success, either as a backup or a starter, but it’s time for a change..for The Giants, and for Daniel. I kept wanting to see all that promise we witnessed in his first ever start…that gunslinging victory over Jameis Winston and The Bucs. I think most of us Giants faithful were on Cloud Nine. Now it’s just overcast.

The NFL is really kicking off across Europe, I live in the UK and the atmosphere is brilliant, but having seen football (by which I mean soccer) in Germany and the UK I can confirm that the atmosphere in Germany is another level! On my Giants, nothing in New York is going to save his career there. I've said since Halloween in year two that his processing wasn't NFL level and he was a one read QB - we saw it again on Sunday with him not spotting wide open guys. The giants have tried various people on the O Line (which admittedly has never been great despite having a legit LT) and have brought in multiple weapons (Tate, Golladay, Ingram, Nabers etc) who have never worked out here - they can't all be bad, but unfortunately the common dominator is DJ.

It's ridiculous. 53 man roster and one guy takes 1/4 of the salary cap. And every time a QB with a solid starter position gets a new contract, he has to become the highest paid player in the league. When has the team with the highest paid player in their roster won the championship in a league with a salary cap? In any sport? I'm guessing never.

There are still giants fan willing to die on the jones hill because they think “he’s a good kid” or something i can’t comprehend the mentality of still defending this guy

There are plenty of arhletes in the NFL, but not that many qbs. Daniel Jones is only an athlete

Every Giants fan is stating that Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have to be released from their jobs immediately after the season. Agree is not even a question. The question is about Daniel Jones. There is no franchise quarterback in this draft. The Giants have to wait for a franchise quarterback. The following draft will have their franchise quarterback Arch Manning.

The Giants problems are almost totally on the coach. If he can see that Jones is missing on wide open receivers, then he needs to bench him. You cannot keep putting him out there, when he cannot do the job. But I guarantee that, in their next game, he will be the starting QB, and that is 100% on Dabol.

Germans loving football more than Brits. In England, you face soccer as competing religion whereas over here you feel hunger for the sports and its entertainment factor.

So another word…Jones is F terrible.😂

Before Fantasy Football, did EVERYONE think they'd be the best GM in the league?

Jones isn't the only problem. Dabolls play calling hasn't changed anything.

Funny how Rich’s take is the polar opposite of Don La Greca’s observation when it comes to the fans. He thought most of them were plants or actors due to how inauthentic they reacted to the game. Either way, I might be one of the few that wants to keep this game “in-house”, regardless of fandom or popularity outside the USA. This is our national sport, our product. Let’s not ruin it in the pursuit of greed.

Sad they had to see Giants/Panthers

Daniel can’t throw off of his back. Even on the flea flicker the pressure was on him so quickly he couldn’t have completed a throwing motion. The can’t protect him, and he can’t block for himself.

I hoped that Jones would put it together this year. Too many injuries and too many changes on the team were too much for him. Whatever edge he may have had before is gone. He absolutely needs a new start somewhere else.

Daniel jones is such a dichotomy. He has wheels and he’s not stupid. It’s like..step down and be a coach..but we have you locked in at 41 million so you HAVE TO play

If the Germans were so pumped up for Giants/Panthers, imagine when some REAL teams head over there. Could you imagine Steelers v Cowboys?

NY Giants need to sign QB Sam Darnold to a 3 year $100 million dollar contract this off season.

The receivers are doing their parts. The OLine isn’t good but DJ makes them look so much worse by holding onto the ball w a combination of slow reads, distrust of the OLine, and just unwillingness to sling it.

There will never be another QB who puts up as low numbers as DJ and last 6 seasons as the franchise QB.

Been a Jones supporter for many years now. Being honest here. I cbft with him any more. His plays, accuracy, his command of the offence. He cant do it. Get a new qb & if daboll isnt the man he is. Dump him & the GM . They came as a package
@daveingrey26158 күн бұрын
The $19M in cap savings vs the $22M additional hit if he fails a physical from an injury means DJ is done. Only problem is for fans - what happens if they turn to DeVito and he starts winning like last year? But with no real improvement on his big weakness, taking too many sacks…
