Adding Amari now is perfect. We can rebuild chemistry starting next week, and hopefully be running smooth in the weeks ahead. Great move...

@ItsalwayscloudyinclevelandАй бұрын
Why is that stupid. They do that do keep cap space flexible to rollover into ensuing seasons and in case they wanna be aggressive in acquiring any players. Eagles do the same thing
@Lovemate5571Ай бұрын
What you call "stupid" is from a business standpoint really the only way to garner anything of value for a player that was in his contract season anyway. The Browns would have gotten NOTHING at all, had they just kept him on the roster and played out this already lost season with him. Adding to that they also knew that any serious contenter with an injury/glaring need at WR most likely would not have had the cap space for his 19 million salary. Like the Bills. So even if teams were interested they simply wouldn't be able to afford him in terms of salary cap space. Therefore the Browns made the ONLY REASONABLE decision that converting his base salary into up front paid bonus money would only cost them money. Money that they would have had to pay him anyway. But by eating it up right away when the season started they kept the possibility of a potential trade alive and well. They would have owed him the money anyway so nothing lost there but at least they received a 3rd-rounder for him. This move was certainly desperate since they sold the house and the kitchen sink in draft capital to make this totally insane Watson trade. But was it stupid? I don't think so at all. The Bills certainly look like the obvious winners of this trade right now but essentially they are renting a player for 11 games and pay a 3rd rounder for it. If Amari Cooper balls out and helps taking this offense to new heights and the Bills make a deep playoff run, the 3rd rounder looks like a steal. But if not or if he gets injured then the winner of this trade is very much debatable since Cooper will be a free agent next season and won't be resigned by the Bills for the minimum salary.

Happy for Amari. Consummate pro. If Chubb performs well, I expect he'll get a chance before Nov 5th to win elsewhere as well. Garrett, Ward, Teller? Will be interesting to see who else gets out of this flaming dumpster. Will cost Stefanski his job. Dark days ahead... but it's Cleveland, we'll live.

When Jerry Jones says they are going all in with what they had during the off season tells you a lot. This means the Cowboys better start playing well yesterday or all of us who are not Cowboys fans will be trolling the Cowboys.

@@ji8044 It's built around D-line pressure, LBs filling running lanes, and the DBs going for turnovers and hits, not coverage. Buffalo needs to get Milano and Oliver back on the field, and they need the offense to put up more points. This doesn't help with the former, but if the O puts up more points it makes the other team have to catch up and makes it easier for the Bills D to do what they were designed to do. The Bills designed their team around getting a lead and then punishing the opposing team for the rest of the game - they're not really designed to duke it out in close, get the last possession and play for the 3 points to win games (especially considering their kicker is a head case this year). This trade for Cooper makes sense given how the team is built this season, because when the Bills don't put up points and can't lean on their running game, they've looked very beatable this year by even teams like the Jets.

They are stuck with his salary. Doesn't mean they have to play him. Get a QB in the draft next year and have the world's most expensive bench warmer be the back-up as a sort of morality tale. And... (1) no more guaranteed contracts (2) have a morals clause in every contract

This is just the beginning. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. The Browns can’t even start over until they get rid of Watson. Trade all the tradable high priced talent for whatever draft capital you can get. Use all that freed up cap space to accelerate Watson’s payout / departure.
@JonasBluntsonАй бұрын
What messed up Watson was bill Obrien trading dhop from the texans for peanuts. That triggered the true downfall of watson. I saw it happened bc bill Obrien said we can get any player to fill his shoes. Every texans fans was sad about that trade.

No one is trying to trash Watson unnecessarily. But he has brought all of this on himself for both his off the field issues and his on the field play. And that is multiplied by that awful trade and contract.

The browns just admitted they ruined their window of opportunity. Obj and Deshaun Cosby trades absolutely screwed the franchise for years to come. You had a great running game, an above average qb, a solid defense, and you found a way to ruin it.

@JonZiegler6Ай бұрын
best thing cleveland can do if they have a top 5 pick is trade it away for 1st round picks in later years. They can stock up on other talent and hopefully be in position to get a future qb when watson has 1-2 years left...serves them right btw
@ffas23Ай бұрын
Amari this year was also part of the problem. If you watched last weeks game with Philadelphia Amari caught a tremendous pass down near the 5 yard line but Amari finally catching one this year was penalized for grabbing the Facemask of a Eagles defender. That could have turned into a touchdown. That didn’t help his team. Watson is getting better. I guess getting back to playing for after his last operation needed more time for him to get adjusted to. He was much better in the 2nd half and the front line could be playing much better.

I wish the Chiefs got him. Josh is playing great football. We’ll see what they can do. Definitely interesting.
@dewknow1315Ай бұрын

@sirjoshuafawАй бұрын
No one mentions how Allen has thrown 0 interceptions this year and has 15 TDs. My theory is it's because he doesn't have to force the ball to a diva WR anymore. Now he can be comfortable with who he targets and therefore doesn't have to force the ball.
@NsellzАй бұрын
Any qb with Ceedee will look good. Cowboys don’t need another WR. If you watch Turpin he’s better than good enough, also Tolbert has breakaway speed. The cowgirls need a RB. + a few DEs to replace injuries. Cowboys are so close to being competent. I never understood bringing back Zeek.
@ryanodneal7001Ай бұрын
Stefanski is done, too. IDK about Cooper. He's been traded around not really helped the offenses. He flashed but not enough. Chiefs weren't offering much LOL

Dallas should not get a pass for giving cooper away for nothing, I don’t want to hear about getting rid of the 20 million in salary. The other part of that equation was that they were keeping 1 of Gallup/cooper and they decided Gallup at 12 million a year coming off of a serious knee injury was the better investment. Gallup is now retired and cooper is still the same great player so they were way off on that evaluation.
