Deion is the reason I became a Noel’s fan, so I feel ya. However we have to remember at the time Prime had no college football coaching experience and the Noles were coming off the Willie Taggert era, they weren’t going to hire an unproven coach! 🤔 So, Coach Prime is an alumnus of Florida State, but he is not a graduate from FSU. Some people are saying that "he's still a 'Nole", even though he didn't finish school there. So, does that mean that every single student who transfers from one school to another is STILL a member of his/ her former school's identity? 'Cause if that's the standard for Coach Prime, then it's applicable to everyone who has ever left a school without graduating from there, and got/are getting a diploma/degree from a different institution, right?🤔

The answer to your question is yes. According to most dictionaries (Cambridge, Oxford, Merriam-Webster), the definition of alumnus is someone who attended (even if the person didn't graduate) a college. So according to those dictionaries, Sanders is an alumnus of FSU and Talladega College, but he is only a graduate of Talladega College. (I retired from working at a university and that is also the definition we used.)

It’s a little different than a student just “transferring”. He was one of the greatest Noles of all time. When your Jersey is retired, you become quite literally immortalized by that program.
