I wish there were more spots in northern Oregon nearer Multnomah county. I'm a mom and need back home by 3 to get my kids. And I'm absolutely new to this.... So I've kind of just driven around & gathered some small buckets worth& dropping pins on my google maps. I have tomorrow off& I'm going to pan it.

Hey there, thanks watching and dropping a comment. The answer is no it’s not, but only 90 minutes away near the coast, maybe you’ve heard of Powers? I’m was working the south coquille river and now I’m working the beaches for amazing GOLD! On a side note, I hiked way up like 8 miles up the Illinois when I was a kid and it was like a dream up there.

@@kennethgreene7124 right on! If you make it over, the gold is in the brown muddy layer of cobbles in the first 16 inches also nice pickers and even small nuggets can be found in the older crumbling bedrock.

New to gold panning and I’m finding conflicting information in using a sluce box here in oregon on wether or not you can do you know anything about that?
@GoldHunter-772 жыл бұрын
Basically if it’s non motorized it’s ok in most places. Unless specific river has set rules like rogue is hands and pans only. They make it confusing on purpose and even the rangers don’t fully understand the written laws on Oregon recreational mining. No motors no problems for me going over ten years

Thanks Damon. It was Hot gold for sure. I wanted to stay and get more but I was beat! Next time I went back somebody tore it up and trash everywhere probably moved over 5 yards. Had to walk away. I’m learning to be more careful of what I record. Lessons learned.

If your gonna do it right by researching, trecking, exploring spending time, money and hard work looking for good spots, YOU earned that! Don't give your honey holes away or they'll be trashed. People won't expend the effort to find the good spots for gold, but if you tell them you'll be right back at square one doing all the hard work for them instead of yourself. That's how you get burned out and broke. Also could'nt help but notice all that moss on the rock ? ? ? ? ?
@GoldHunter-77 Жыл бұрын
Good points all around, I’ve done well with miss before too but usually it’s super fine and I only pan moss for testing new areas
