Hi could you put 27.5 forks on a 26 inch wheel bike and still put the 26 inch wheels on? Ps me and my dad love your videos 👍
@avocette
@avocette 4 жыл бұрын
You can but you have to maintain the same axle to crown length (+ - 10 mm). By doing so, you'll probably use a fork that's 20-30 mm shorter travel than the 26-inch fork the bike was originally spec'd with. If you're fine with that, then carry on.

@19hamish78
@19hamish78 4 жыл бұрын
You can get headsets that will do this. I did it on a bike I had. The headset sits outside the head tube at the bottom and is wider than the top part.

@smokedsalmon3907
@smokedsalmon3907 4 жыл бұрын
Check out some of the mtb forums, they'll tell you the exact headset code you need for this. That said, if the bike has a straight head tube it probably also has qr wheels. I considered this on my hardtail but instead went for a fork with a straight steerer. Might be better off just buying a new bike with updated standards. Some crazy good deals on FS bikes these days. Now I've got my hardtail and a dope FS bike, n+1!

I question my head angle at 65.3. I consider this still slack. And it perfect for me. So would love feedback on this question.
@smokedsalmon3907
@smokedsalmon3907 4 жыл бұрын
I went from a hardtail with a 68 head angle to a FS with 65. Makes it so much more stable downhill. The stamina is the type of bike for when you want as stable as possible. Like going to a bike park or shuttling, this bike would be insane. For regular trail riding you'd probably choose something else.
@avocette
@avocette 4 жыл бұрын
65-66 degrees is the general turning point between a climbing bike and a downhill bike. Most XC bikes have 68-69 degree head angles, while enduro and downhill bikes delve much lower than 65.

Can any of you Enduro guys & gals tell me why he would run a 2.3 tire vs 2.5 or a 2.6? Seems like you would have far better grip and lower pressure with a larger tire. Especially in the front. Maybe it's just a sponsor thing but I feel like he probably does it for a reason. Thanks!
@smokedsalmon3907
@smokedsalmon3907 4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure everyone has a different opinion but seems like the sweet spot is around 2.3-2.5. Past 2.5 it starts to feel kinda bad for faster riding. Tried a bike with 2.6 and it just felt kinda "off". For slower trail riding though the bigger tires are nice.
@carlstanton2550
@carlstanton2550 4 жыл бұрын
The bigger tire has a bit of drag/rolling resistance, nothing much the average rider would notice while pedalling on flat or climbs, but a rider of rich's calibre would notice. That would be my guess as to why he doesn't run the bigger tires, but I could be wrong

Let's just Cnc mill the whole frame. For when carbon is too straight forward.
@th_js

Carbon is not recyclable, not very tough when it comes to impacts and is way more polluting to manufacture.
@pedromiguel1389
@pedromiguel1389 4 жыл бұрын
@@th_js the carbon itself can be recycled, the problem is the resin. There are a few inovations about that. I don't remember where, but I saw some video explaining a new manufacturer technique that basically it eliminates the resin all together.
@th_js
@th_js 4 жыл бұрын
@@pedromiguel1389 Of course. This still means the carbon itself is not recyclable, because it can't be separated from the resin. Also it was in the WWC Revel Wheelset video.
