I'm not spending $100 on one meal (with tax, drink, tip) to go to a buffet! Buffets do not buy USDA Prime meats or top quality seafood. Its all the entry quality or mid-level like Choice. Those skinny crab legs would never be served in Joes Stone Crab. Its not bad or terrible, but $100 you can have a great meal at nearly any top Vegas restaurants. (Entre $45-$70, 1 side large enough to share, 1 drink). Just a far better experience you will remember, than just hitting up the cafeteria-style buffet).

Just about a decade ago, there was a crazy divorce lawsuit in Hong Kong, It gave the common people a view of how rich people live. The tycoon spends HKD $3,000,000 per month on meals. That is just under $750,000 US dollars.

Danny, Why do you drink tap water at a buffet when the drinks are included?
@dannythemedic Жыл бұрын
I will tell you the truth. I usually drink Diet Sodas when drinks are included, and at times Orange Juice, several teas, and ask for coffee at the end. What happened here was that I asked for a glass of water initially to use a a mic stand for my lav, but then I changed my mind so I drank the water.

I ate at this buffet back in April of 2021. I passed on it my last two trips and I am not sure if I will go when I am in Vegas this coming May. It has nothing to do with the cost but it just does not seem like the quality of this buffet has improved. In fact, it seems like it has gotten worse.
@dannythemedic Жыл бұрын
There were many trips where I just went to the bacchanal to walk around and see the buffet, noticed nothing great or nothing new and then ate elsewhere.. when I go to buffets, any buffet that is near other possible food choices, I look first and if I dont get excited about what I see, I would just eat elsewhere...

The renovation costs explain why the buffet costs so much. I don’t understand why anyone no matter the income level would spend that much on one person buffet unless they are the size of John Candy. $79 a head will get you a nice meal in Vegas. Or at least go along way towards the nicer meal. Be honest now does that taste like a professional chef cooked it or just the chefs you find at Golden Corral? Idk call me a snob but for $79 a head I’m not standing in line getting my own food. Sounds and looks like by all those people in there willing to pay what they asking I’m in the minority in my thinking. Maybe I’m just not a buffet person especially for $79.🤷🏼♀️
@dannythemedic Жыл бұрын
I will share with you a story: back in the day, caesars offered a "buffet of buffet" 24 hour pass for not too much money... because of that pass, any buffet entry costed nothing more so money did not matter. I found myself going in for JUST a coffee, or JUST an icecream in between meals, ... when money dont matter I would just go inside for no reason at all. Right now, money matters.. BUT if my income becomes 10 times more that it is now, then the Bacchanal Buffet Entry would not matter to me, and I would end up going in just for some tea!!!
@CrazyGrandma. Жыл бұрын
@@dannythemedic I think that is a good example of difference in people with wealth as well. Some may fall into that I have it so I can spend to just get a coffee and those that might be still more frugal in a way. I think there’s probably some in each category. Maybe how they got it would have a bearing on that as well. Who knows🤷🏼♀️, I’m to cheap or frugal to ever see myself not hoarding it. But at the same time I don’t see myself getting wealthy anytime soon either.😂😂
@dannythemedic Жыл бұрын
its kinda like, currently, I myself cannot be bothered with things that dont cost alot.. I have more important things to do. so I would go into a place and if a drink costs a dollar, and then another place has a drink that costs 2 dollars, I wouldnt give it a second thought and just drink my drink and move on with life.... I can imagine rich people have the same thing but scaled up, they got millions of dollars in business waiting to be done, and EVERYONE is limited to 24 hours a day, so they probably dont pay any mind if a buffet is 24.99 or 79.99 , they just eat and get on with their day..

These videos are so great & entertaining...what ive learnt though...is anything over $70 + tax pp...is simply not good value. Yes there is 'quality' & variety BUT for 2 ppl i'd rather spend c.$250/300 at a very good restaurant + tip for service ...where quality is guaranteed & the fact that paying close to $200 at the buffet...you essentially have to force yourself to overeat & feel sluggish only for the purpose of getting 'perceived' value for money. IMO its not worth it...despite the smaller portions at a very good restaurant...you will at least have energy left to go about the rest of your day or evening & if still hungry have the option of trying other quick & unique bites anywhere of your choice...whether that be premium gelato, dessert, etc. The Wynn buffet & Palms lobster buffet are probably priced just on the edges of giving both decent quality & value.
