Casting Sharmin Segal was the most disappointing decision for the show. Well, even the master was not able to make her act, perform or dance. If she wasn't the niece of SLB, she would've never been a part of the project for sure. Series is about tawaifs who are well-known cultured, classical dancers and no one was able to dance or speak proper urdu.

Sharmin is looking at acting as a job not art … you r not in Karan Johar set , even he wouldn’t cast her ….. she worked as assistant director for so long in SLB production , the level of experience that gives you is worth any acting school . She still didn’t do well. She kept Deepika’s acting in mind and did her scenes . She forgot technique of acting was same but Deepika acts alots with eyes and smile .. even she is stiff but she knows when to let go of it … like sharmin didnt do any inner work for character .. she shd hv tried method acting if she really wants acting as career … SLB niece tag is not enough to survive in this industry..
