The weightlessness is not because they were in "space". They were only 50 miles up, and at that altitude you still weigh about 99% your weight on Earth's surface. At twice the altitude from Earth's surface, about 4,000 miles up, a 200 pound person would still weigh 50 pounds. The reason they were weightless was simply an airplane trick called a parabolic maneuver.

@@matthewviramontes3131 Its becuase they actually do leave the atmosphere and are in the heliosphere? There is a band they are in or very close by which some forms of low orbit satellites are placed in . ( like a mile or less ) so the weightlessness is real space and with with enough speed you can create a stable orbit. It's a valid, approved by NASA space trip. It's just reaching the needed point of 'space' . I mean it's a tiny rocket jet plane afterall and it's only meant for the quickest of trips. The shuttle itself holds way to many passengers for what the lifesystems could ever handle over an hour or so
@matthewviramontes31312 жыл бұрын
@@TheFreshSpam They're only 50 miles up. Gravity doesn't decrease that much at just 50 miles up. You'd either have to go thousands of miles above Earth to be weightless, or, be in orbit like the Internetational Space Station, in which nether of those things are happening here. They literally just went up 50 miles. That Virgin Galactic thing only goes about Mach 2, and you have to reach speeds of about Mach 22 to go into orbit.

@@TheSourav77 They said the same kind of things about aircraft flights in the beginning. While you can pick numerous 'special parts', some of them include: An individual who set a goal to go to space and did it, not a small feat, hence why you know about it in the first place. An individual who gathered a team of people together to create new technologies to accomplish the task in the process that perhaps others will be able to grow and create opportunities for countless others. The ability to get into space in the ways that Branson's team has invented may prove to be beneficial for humanity as a whole. He helps create the roadmap for further developments, which will almost certainly benefit the masses in positive ways.

@@terraholdingco I don't really agree with the idea of sending privately funded spaceships to the outer atmosphere unless they have a really defined purpose of extending the boundaries of human knowledge.
@terraholdingco2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSourav77 Perhaps one of the most naive statements I've seen.. Did you know that Branson, in this endeavor, created perhaps the most efficient way of getting into low earth orbit by the design he flew yesterday? Did you know he had to create the technologies necessary to perform the task that took place yesterday, as the capability did not exist in the ways he did it? Do you know how many people have worked on that project and the economic benefits it has brought to those who studied, worked hard to achieve the success they did yesterday? Did you know Branson laid the foundation of a spaceport in New Mexico, a place others can use to perhaps complete their aspirations? Do you have any idea of why this endeavor might have benefits for you personally in the future? If you're not able to answer any of these questions, then you need to open your eyes to the world around you, learn how the foundational elements of new technologies begin, and how they eventually grow to benefit the world at large. And, if that's not enough for you, the mere fact that an individual decided to embark on a personal mission that has incredibly challenging components involved with it, to the level that people have died on this project trying to do what they eventually did yesterday, brings with it an inspiration to those who do understand the aforementioned aspects of what was accomplished and is something that any individual should have the right to choose to do if they wish. You don't have to like it, agree with it, or understand it. What Branson did yesterday is what makes America the greatest place on earth to achieve a dream.
