His company Virgin Airlines ask their employees to take 8 weeks leave without pay during the pandemic then turned around and lobbied the government for over one billion dollars bailout from his mansion in the Virgin Islands but where did that bailout money come from taxes? He hasn’t paid taxes since he moved too the virgin islands 14 years ago. I wonder who’s taxes bailed out his company then...Then maybe a year later at the most he just flies too space in his own spaceship? I guess the question would be what is your definition of a lobbyist and what is your definition of a con man.

Look out, British, but Bezos is already routinely taking real tourists into real Outer Space, one recent space tourist being William Shatner. Musk might do it. No. We need much more than this. The private sector alone cannot do great world changing things. The financial burden is too high. We need to pull together as a society to do great things. How do I know? Because the American space program did this sixty years ago. It's old news. If we rely solely on oligarchs to progress technological advancements, then this is what we can expect. To go backwards, as we have since the moon landings. The private sector has its place. But to rely on it alone is to stagnate. Still don't believe me? Then check out China. They may be currently behind America, but because they do big things as a society, they are catching up fast.

Not necessarily, every technology when time goes, it too goes to 'mass market' - quotes intended. There is a lot of need for the space fabrication i.e. - loss-less optic fiber ZBLAN that is produced only in space, and is used both in medicine - endoscopes - and you do not need signal boosters when laying down ocean cable. This is just first 'immediate' need for production capacity in space. I mean NOW! Guess where this produced in space ZBLAN is used ? Well ... yes on Earth.

You know on the NASA site how they described the picture of earth? A composite image (a series of created pictures pieced together), then they wrapped it around a ball, then they integrated the clouds, ocean, and landmasses to *match people's expectations of what earth should look like from space* lol I mean it's right from the horses mouth lol. Nah, why bother taking a photograph to prove what earth looks like, when instead you can create a bunch of drawings, plaster them together, wrap them around the ball, then add clouds, landmasses, and oceans to match people's expectations LOL Not sure what's more funny, the fact NASA has this right on their website tell you how they created the picture of earth, or the fact people still think earth looks like a ball lol

It is risky indeed. Thankfully everything went smoothly. We forget how dangerous space is until we have a horrific accident. Hopefully when humans become more and more used to space flights, we'll get less and less accidents. I mean, we are now at a point where civilians can go to space. Crazy awesome times!

Of course, ever since spaceflight began, there have always been people who say “What is the the use of it? Why not use the money to feed the hungry, build hospitals, and so on”. But ending spaceflight on its own will not even begin to solve world problems, and it is more than likely that money spent on spaceflight would have been spent on the military and not on social needs. Anyway, the benefits of spaceflight have been huge and modern society today largely depend on technology related or that began with spaceflight. Also, seeing the planet from space has made people more aware that while progress should be made it should not come at the expense of the environment - whether that awareness has come too late remains to be seen although it should be noted that for all the talk of cutting emissions, very little, if anything has been done about it. Of course if environmental and other problems like hunger and poverty can be solved and the world put to rights by cancelling spaceflight, then spaceflight will have to wait while the process of righting the world’s problems is under way. But if one thinks about it clearly enough, the situation is not nearly as straightforward as this and no one should deceive him or herself that it is. But people are against spaceflight would still be against it even if humanity lived in a perfect world, something that has never existed and never will.
