Richard Branson appears to be the type of person that would reach out regardless of status or money. He genuinely cares of the very issues that may be of interest to most of us but without such reminders we can easily put them on the shelf. Drive and persistence is key and he has it! Because when you flush a toilet, germs can be sprayed out by the rushing water. If say, in your bathroom at home, your toothbrush was nearby the germs may collect on it and then you brush your teeth with germs all over it. I'm pretty sure theres a video on it somewhere, I saw it on TV once.

Why would they want you to put the lid down to flush? What advantage does this have? It has two major disadvantages: 1) you have to grab a couple of pieces of toilet paper and lift the lid when you go in (because the previous occupant had to put the lid down), and be careful to avoid touching anything. 2) you have to grab a couple of pieces of toilet paper to put the lid down when your finished. This makes a loud bang. And you can't put the tissue in the toilet. And the bin door is very stiff.
