7:01 they totally didn't do that mod correctly later on in the show. They just needed to put a black out plexi glass over the tail light to get the required result

Should be pointed out that the guy is buying a replica, not one of the screen used cars. Only 5 of the screen used cars survive today. There's nothing wrong with replicas, in fact they look much more accurate to the in-universe KITT than the screen used cars do (they used a lot of Hollywood smoke and mirrors).

Not a single one has ever survived except one stunt car which Hasselhoff got as a present from Universal and that one was a stunt car so without the functional dash and so on. They all had to be took back to GM and they all were crashed by GM because of the rules they had back to that time also according to the Derailment Accident.

@@TheS1PikesPeak You would be wrong. 5 screen used cars survive today. These 5 were not part of the train derailment but were cars that the studio obtained on their own. Knight Rider Historians own 2 of the 5. One of the others is the full time convertible from season 4. Here is a video they made showing every single car ever used in the show and their fate. You are correct about the train derailment cars, those all had to be crushed. That was due to California law, not any GM rules. I can’t believe that car is so popular. I’m 53yrs old and grew up watching that TV show, but it didn’t make me want that car. But I did save money to buy a model kit of that car and I bought it and built it lol😄👍

It’s very sad that the couple who had this car divorced and she “got all the cars” in the “nasty divorce” typical of the female to get the cars when they guy clearly loved that car and most likely paid for it with his hard earned sweat and tears. They once loved each other and she goes and destroyed him in the divorce and the lady who clearly obviously doesn’t give a damn about the car sells it as soon as she can for a few dollars 💵 I’m glad I don’t have a woman like that in my life and I’m sure many others are also. Despicable of her. My aunt did the same thing with her husband and couldn’t wait to sell every last thing that belonged to him that he loved that I had fond memories of. And when I asked her if I could have some of them she didn’t respond and sold them all pretty cheap.

The pilot KiTT car and its first few episodes were actually Firebird S.E.'s not Trans Ams I've been lucky enough to owned both an S.E. and a Trans Am both 82's with v8s

I have a VIN # from one of the remaining original screen used KITT cars and it's 100% a 1982 Trans Am VIN number starting with 1G2AW87 NOT 1G2AX87 which was used for the special edition Firebirds, so it's Not a Firebird special edition like you falsely claim with ignorance 🙄🤬
