People put Aaron on a pedestal in the builds he done with GMG. But the reality is that certain modifications he made to sports cars from limited series, such as the Ferrari F40 or Ford GT, only caused them to devalue in comparison if they had been stock. And in this type of auctions, buyers value a lot, original cars.

Yeah he is a tool with a huge ego but he did hustle his ass off to get where he is today. He likely writes off the majority of his loses in the businesses he has. He also had a live music venue down the street from his restaurant. Which he had to close during the pandemic. I have a friend who is unfortunately homeless. But that's due to his own choice. I often check on him whenever I'm in that part of Dallas. He said he's ran into Richard Rawlings twice. Both times RR gave him a hundred dollar bill. So it's no surprise that there's a homeless camp less than half a mile from his shop. They probably post up on the corner hoping they can catch him or a customer leaving the shop. I doubt he gives them a hundred dollars every time but you never know. He isn't entitled to give them shit really. But he is well known for giving the homeless money. That made me look at him in a new light. Because I thought he was the type to look down on those who are more unfortunate than him for sure. My friend has no reason to lie, I've known him since middle school and he's never been a pathological liar. I need to check on him, haven't seen him in over 6 months. Hope he's doing ok at least. I was in shock the last time I went to that part of Dallas. There has always been homeless ppl in this area. There's also a huge homeless camp behind the McLaren dealership off Northwest Highway as well. I noticed that a huge one popped up in a field near Gas Monkey Garage. Supposedly some millionaire owns the empty plot of land and gave them the ok to live on the land. It's a literal tent city, I've never seen anything like it. Some even have cars parked next to their tents. I'm surprised the city hasn't ran them all out like they normally do. Anyways the homeless population has easily doubled since the pandemic. That was the last time I saw my friend though.

We lost over $85k. on a custom HUMVEE H1 with a Duramax conversion at no reserve Barret Jackson auction in Palm Beach Fl. They sent it through the auction early on Friday when not very many people were there, and a very lucky gentleman went home with it for $25k + $3750 for auction fees, so $28.750. I'll never sell at any auto auction again. lol. If they had sent it through on Saturday afternoon, It would have most likely brought well over $100k. And to think I could have sat it on a street corner in my town that same Friday with a For Sale sign on it and sold it for a lot more than that. At the end of the day its a modified car which is always a harder sell at auction, people spending that kind of money on cars want stock, and I'm sure it had a salvage title which is also a downer. He could have probably gotten close to what he wanted selling it traditionally rather then going for the quick payday at auction where a lot of things were against him.

I commented on the video when they decided to modify this. It was a mistake. All Aaron ever wanted to do was lower everything, never a car left GMG that was not lowered when Aaron was there. Even Richard questioned the lowering when he said it. Ya don't go messing with a car that was built for perfection and beat the pants off Ferrari at Le Mans. Some things are just meant to be left as they were, when you don't things like this are bound to happen.

Well the Ford GT in 2005 and 2006 wasn't perfect, like you would want to find better brakes and new rims to fit on fresh tires, but in the end that car definitely could have made the 300,000 plus he was looking for, just was at the wrong auction.

Guys. If in a barn you found a high-performance matching number Mustang Chevelle or Camaro with the nose knocked off, the wreck had happened 30 years ago and it’s been kept in a very good barn. the vehicles in good shape and you just need to put a new sub frame pull everything make it straight and it doesn’t matter. I think it’s going to matter Less and less to that car as time goes on and it will appreciate in the future. the Carfax will mean less and less.

Gmg rep finished the bidding rather than jump starting it. I remember one episode with a guy looking to buy an old car which was up on a ramp but "finished". His young boy, probably about 12 years old, pointed to a big rusty hole in the floor. "Dad, it's got a rusty hole there" Rawlings "that doesn't matter, it's not structural, structure sound, it's an old car, you can't see under there when it's on the ground". Dad parted with 10s of thousands of dollars (over 25k iirc). I thought then that gmg are all "fur coat and nae knickers".
