Why has this song not got more views? Hawley is brilliant.

Man, I have discovered this after 9 years from its release and seriousy, it is one of the best songs I have ever heard. There is something in it that hits so damn deep, I don't really know why isn't/wasn't popular.

One word resolves all the possible confusions about this world - greed. It all leads to greed. For money, fame, appreciation, love..anything. Having lack of and undertaking actions in order to fulfill the void. Greed drives it all. No entirely a bad thing, but the world you see around is the consequence of it.

Listen to the first 8 seconds very carefully! I've cleverly noticed that the fade in before the guitar is actually from Hawley's song "Last Orders" from his Coles Corner Album. You'd have to have the volume turned up loud to hear it closely.

Lyrics Love just drifts us on, On our way, to the fields where we will play today. Louis brings his kite, With a homemade paper-chain. Strange to see the sight, Of the moon, in the daytime not the night. I will lift you up, So high, on my shoulders to the sky. Ah Don't stare at the sun too long. Don't stare at the sun too long. Singing in the dark, On our way home, the day is done for sleepy ones. On the fire escape, My telescope, that scans the evening sky. If I could see it all, All to be lost, in the galaxy of distant stars. Did I see your face? It weighs so much, to be alone tonight. Ah Don't stare at the sun too long. Don't stare at the sun too long. You scare everyone, If you stare at the sun. Don't stare at the sun too long.

The sun is a prominent star. Don't let the heavy light blind you and drift you off. Low lights are just as necessary as high lights. You got to be low to go high, and high to go low. It's up to you to find the balance.

I do understand fully, but nevertheless it is still confusing. To be fair though Richard Hawley's tracks are not really played much on regular radio shows to reach a wider audience, it seems manufactured pop is riding that wave again and that is paid for advertisement in the industry by the label. Shame.
