I didn't realize Richard Marx and Luther Vandross were so involved in creating sweet music together, one of them being this song. We lost Luther very close to the time this song was made. It was the last song he wrote. He and Richard became such close friends. My heart goes out to you Richard and thanks you for this collaboration by two of the most talented singer/songwriters in history. ❤️ Luther is smiling down whenever this melody is played. 😢❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

absolute pleasure to be there. The guy is a living legend Fabulous performance... 2 hrs 20 mins of absolute world class entertainment would gladly have paid times the admission fee without hesitation. Needs to fill in a boring day at home putting this track in particular into his awesome recording repertoire

This song is so touching. It reminds me to think of life like we aren't guaranteed tomorrow. My dad is still alive right now, and thanks to this song, I try to spend every day as though I've been given a second chance to make things the best I can. I'm so blessed to have my father and mother, but my dad is my heart, my mom is my head.

My mom passed away in ‘87 when I was 13 years old...I would love to dance with her again.

Wish i would been able to have been there too. I have been a fan of Richard since 1987 and have seen him live twice, in 1990 at Manchester Apollo and in November 1992 at Hammersmith Odeon (now Apollo). Not seen him since due to financial issues. Would love him to come back to Manchester again, hopefully very soon.

Luther and Richard were very close friends, as were they co-writers. Richard didn't do the song for a long time after Luther died, because it hurt too much.

Luther Vandross did record this song but Richard Marx wrote it so I'd like to believe this is the original :) Amazing song from an amazing singer and songwriter!

They wrote it together--as he said. But Luther recorded it first. Won for song of the year in 2005. Sadly Luther never knew because he had had a stroke that ended his life.
