Has the world gone mad....this guy is one of America's greatest songwriters and no body has made a comment...and i get to be the first....SPEECHLESS.....if Richard Marx had released this in the 80's everybody would be lording it and saying what a great singer Richard Marx is.......ok...as this is the first comment on here....STUNNING, EMOTIONAL, FULL OF HONESTY, A THING OF BEAUTY, AWESOME VERSION, TERRIFIC and a thousand more besides. RICHARD MARX....you wrote the music to this song...PLEASE GIVE GREAT PLEASURE TO ALL OF THE RICHARD MARX FANS OUT IN THE WORLD.....AND FOR GOD'S SAKE RELEASE YOUR VERSION...i was a huge fan of Luther Vandross too...at the very least release it for Luther...more importantly...release it for the "celebration of your collaboration!!!!!".....it is a healing song which lets tears from deep down inside of the soul. Still can't believe i got to make the first comment on this beautiful version of a terrific piece of songwriting..as one songwriter to another..Richard Marx...I SALUTE YOU SIR. If you were ever looking for another collaborator..google BREATHE by JASMINE LAMPORT..i penned the lyrics!!!..

P.S. If ever you read this Richard....this song is right up there with the best Richard Marx songs...and i've heard them all...does it have to have your lyrics in it??...correct me if i'm wrong but as well as the beautiful lyrics in this song is the sheer beauty of the melody..and the feel of a Richard Marx song running deeply through it..with the added bonus of one terrific vox...nuff said i think.

Hello Brian, As one writer to another i am so glad you are writing again. Richard Marx...words are never enough to explain what this man's creation has mean't to me. Unbelievably i found REPEAT OFFENDER in a library in England a good few years back and just wanted to write like him.If i'm honest i probably wanted to be him. What's not to like for the ladies(and i'm sure one or two men..let's be honest here). I always feel the essence and mark of a good songwriter is the ability to captivate the listener in the first verse and chorus of a song and, in Richard's area of song, just tear your heart out and make you reach for the box of kleenex to catch those tears from that emotion on a relational level. This man does it in so many songs."RIGHT HERE WAITING and many, many more are stunning. Two days ago i was visited by a co-writer for the first time(i have many)...this lady had been ridiculed and torn apart by her boyfriend about here song writing and had sadly just lost her mother. At the end of our session after playing me at least 10 of her demos which frankly, where amazing(all original), she asked me why i had not played her any of mine. Within minutes of talking about the power of lyrics in a song she insisted on me playing her a song i had penned and released with a co-writer called JASMINE LAMPORT. The reason being, i had told her it had been written for a bet. The bet was that i couldn't write a lyric, both emotional and able to bring somebody(a random stranger) to tears with the least amount of lyrics in that song. My new co-writer was absolutely gob-smacked when i told her i'd already done it with a song called "WHY" by JASMINE LAMPORT....and unbelievably after warning her to be very careful, she pressed the play button. I estimated that despite repetition in the song, lyrically, a torrent of tears flowed from her from the first verse onwards..and she insisted on playing it again...AND THOSE TEARS KEPT COMING!!! On questioning her what had touched her and taken her to tears, her response was.... "unbelievably for a song with just seventeen lyrics, it wasn't what the song was saying which got me,it was more about what it WASN'T saying and then it was what my mind was filling in the lack of lyrics with...and it just blew the cobwebs away and made me question recently why my mother never told anybody she had cancer...and yet she knew three months before...THIS SONG WILL DRAW FOLK IN FROM SO MANY ANGLES....and i love it because it is GOOD SAD".... I guess Richard Marx really did inspire me. ...and i must have learn't something. It's really nice to meet another person who has obvious real love for Richard's creation. Stay safe, Brian...and rock the world with your songs...by the way...you never gave up, because you're writing again...maybe you just needed a break. Kindest regards, Sonic Foxx. SONIC FOXX RECORDS. England.

You can see the bitterness in his eyes as he sings this song, thinking of Luther Vandross. I heard him once say that they collaborated on quite a few songs together and were good friends. Richard Marx said that his passion is music and not just singing, which means he enjoys playing, writing, composing and singing. It's probably WHY his songs have been no.1 hits....because he does it as a passion and not as a job.
