I met Richard at a Rock Camp in LA he has some great stories, he said he is eventually doing a book, it should be great .

he's adorable ... luv the accolades he gave Ministry, Skinny Puppy & Front 242...ofcourse the Nine Inch Nail narrative is obvious to anyone that's a fan but lotsa peeps still don't give the essential props to the Industrial Revolution of the 80s circa WaxTrax! Records ... other great bands: Swans, Front Line Assembly, Thrill Kill Kult, Nitzer Ebb, Revolting Cocks, Acid Horse, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, etc....many more that most fans of NIN or Filter have no clue of their crucial impact & massive influence.

He said his nickname in NIN was PIGGY, i wonder if the song Piggy on TDS is about Richard?

Paul Meadowlark Nice, alway's thought that was a song about a girl, didn't know Richard leaving hurt Trent that badly, kinda like a fuck you "nothing can stop me now, cuz i don't care anymore" to Richard, i guess Trent felt betrayed cuz he kinda payed Richard's way to get out to LA and then he just bounced on him. But then he got Robin and had the best |\| | |/| lineup yet, Woodstock 94' era was the fucking best, jesus it was so dark and heavy.
@KUJOSREVENGE4 жыл бұрын
@@06mrselfdestruct yeah they traded shots at each other back during that time, trent wrote piggy about richard and richard wrote gerbil about trent but they made up in the end
@Pablo-ze6un4 жыл бұрын
Seems like bs. No one else has ever backed that claim and Trent has stated several times that TDS tells a story and that he wrote it under certain parameters. Also, looking at how petty Richard acts sometimes, it seems he never got over leaving NIN.

Man, being in bands with people with strong personalities can be weird. When you leave they act like you're breaking up with them.

How the hell was he "dirt poor" before he left NIN? Not making any judgements here, just trying to understand.
@hitcher824 жыл бұрын
He was dirt poor because he was just hired to play on tour. He didn't get paid much. There is this documentary called Hired Gun here on KZbin. It talks about musicians that are hired for studio work or touring. It is very interesting. He talks about it there. How when he started his band filter he did the same thing of hiring touring musicians and paying them scrap to keep the money for himself.

It's weird how there's a certain age you pass where you can still look like you're 30 but then seemingly overnight you look like you're 60. I swear that in the interviews after "The sun comes out tonight" he still looked youthful like a 30-something. Three years later after "Crazy Eyes" it's like he aged a decade or more. Time can be an asshole.
