There have been many funny comedians over the years, but Richard is THE greatest of all time. Nearly every stand-up of every color has cited him as an influence. He has brought so many together through laughter...he was able to have everyone laughing at and with themselves over his observations of everyday life, through black and white points of view. There will never be another like him. R.I.P. Rich...thank you for the laughs.

Out of all the great comedians, such as bill hicks, george carlin and several others living or dead. What makes Richard pryor my all time favourite and i submit the best there was. Is because compared to almost all others, he wasnt afraid to show his kindness and a sense of vulnerability that gave all his bits and performances heart. Its sad to know he is gone, but he will forever be missed and remembered.

@@chansomanmusic all I said was the joke went over your head. You proceeded to go off on this over the top rant about intellect and class. Glad you decided to write a sarcastic and intelligent sounding paragraph to basically show just how hurt you were. And its Richard Pryor. He wasn't trying to be sophisticated.
@twilson26055 жыл бұрын
@@chansomanmusic the fact is, I wasn't, but here you are again responding off of emotion. This really has you upset. Lastly, is you going into a comment section regarding people finding something funny and you jumping in and saying "that's not funny" not leaning on the elitist side if we're going by your logic? You just felt the need to be that guy and tell everyone "actually, I'm sorry to break it to you, but this isn't funny". Do you need sophisticated jokes? Something tells me if the initial comment didn't receive so much positive feedback, you wouldn't have made the comment, but you felt like showing how different you are.

At the same time it makes you laugh your ass off it also makes you think deep into shit that really does need to be talked about. I forgot which boxer it was, but, about '94'95, he was coming on Stern one day, and prior to him in the studio, heard, Howard-being-Howard was saying, 'oh, I betcha he's got woman running hot-and-cold,and he was going to ask him all these questions about what it was like to win so much money, yadda, yadda. The boxer came in, and Howard started asking these questions, and the boxer said no, he didn't have any of this, that after his 'manager' (guess who), and all he others got paid, he got practically nothing. You could sense Howard realising the guy got taken, and Howard started to very gently 'suggest' this boxer should get this looked in to, and, it was actually sad, because, even though this is radio, you could sense the boxer realising what Howard was saying, and - damn, he DID get ripped off. I remember they took some calls after this, and everyone was commenting on how bad they felt - this guy had done all the work - got the shite punched out of him, and managed to win, and got almost nothing for it.

As a white person, I don't understand why this conversation even started. I didn't hear him making fun of white people in this.so why bring it up. Richard Pryor was a comedic genius, not doing anything different from a lot of other comedians. They frequently use topics that make people uncomfortable, and find humor. This opens dialogue about shit we need to talk about. For myself, there is very little I can't find humor in. Lighten up, whoa didn't even plan that lol.
