So many comedians have sampled his stuff he was so ahead of his time
@nicolasap868 жыл бұрын
+manweller1 Almost every famous black comedian to this day is just delivering a current vernacular version Richard's material. He was the first to really nail the race stereotypes.

I hate to sound like a hater, but I don't give him that much credit. If you listen to all of his acts, you'll see that he imitates the pastor, he imitates the local wino, he also imitates Mudbone, who was a real life person. So you say all of these new comedians copy him, but guess what, he is also copying somebody. He just happened to start his career at the right time in entertainment history.

@@skiburnski7543 Richard Pryor said he copied Cosby and Lenny Bruce.
@nguzoloveinlofi38323 жыл бұрын
@@courylanders4142 He said when he started out that's what he did- then Cosby called him out on it and told him he needed to develop his own style. Then Richard went out to California and started hanging out with the Black Panthers and that's where and when he developed into the Icon we celebrate now.

LMAO, he likely performed this in the 70's, nothing's changed....and this is 2017. Yep, we're RIDERS. I live in a huge complex, so occasionally I see/hear couples arguing. A caucasian woman arguing with her man went something like this: Dude: "Heidi, I didn't call you last night because I was out with someone else." Heidi: begins to cry. "Well, you just hurt my FEELINGS." Boo-hoo. Dude with Black girl: "Michaela, I didn't call you last night because I was out with someone else." Michaela: starts taking off her earrings. "Welp, niggah you got an ass whooping coming now!" LOL.

Richard Pryor's jokes come from his experiences, especially all the bad experiences with drugs. He turns the negatives in to a positive and that's what makes them so interesting as well has hilarious. He is so awesome.
