Cat decks lose really hard to Hushbringer; there definitely should be more of them in the 75. At a minimum a 2-2 split with Sephara.

Seth talks about it a bit in the video, but the card that Fliers cannot beat if it resolves is Mayhem Devil. Most of your fliers have one toughness, that card is impossible to beat.

This is the second time in the last two months that you have played a deck that crim did last week for single scoop. It’s almost the same deck and crim’s deck was the same price. Actually played Azorius Flyers during Dominaria-Ravnica Standard until Eldraine Rotation and it was one of my favourite aggro decks. Managed to get it built on Arena again And gave it the name my friend gave it when I first created it: "Bird is the Word"

I played this deck last season and it was great, I haven’t really played it this season but I do have it Card Styled out because I have issues. You are running a lot more 1 drops then I did and I like that, I was using All that Glitter and Transcendent Envoy...

Could've sworn I had a comment here about coming back to this build after 2021/Zendikar the 3rd rotation....hmmm... Oh well. Short answer is this: Losing *Flurry of Wings* hurt this build too much to keep it in the current removal-laden Standard. If you build this pre-rotation, I would, as an off-the-cuff suggestion, give it a swing in Pioneer and/or Historic & see if it still has wings.

Playing this deck, worked great for me. Temur Reclemation and Baby Mythics always gave me fits because of Uro. I'd counter Uro and get wrathed. I like your luck better.

I would play one Sephara in main for sure, atleat for Bo1. And as the title is Budget, what would you play in this if it was not a "budget" deck? Other than scry lands? I think it would be cool at the end of these budget vids to show us the non-budget version also? :) But yeah, really nice games with the old faithful :)

I've played a deck similar to this for months that has been very good. I think that you scooped way to early a few times, especially on the verge of dropping Sephara (who has lifelink btw). You could have came back for the win against that red/white deck.

Would replace the octopus with that UW aura that gives +1/+1 and when it deals damage to an opponent you draw. It's functionally the same thing and serves the same purpose except it pumps a little and is cheaper. Yeah I know the octopus is also a creature in a pinch but if you're playing that thing as just an octopus in this deck you're most likely about to just lose anyway.

Oh, you have them in the sideboard. Why not maindeck those over the octopus? They fill the same purpose just cheaper and they actually add power to the board.

I agree that Staggering Insight is not very good in that deck. If it's for life gain in agro matches I'd rather have Gideon. If it for drawing cards then 3 cmc teferi.

I really wouldn't call this meta midrangey but that's my opinion 😅 I always envision midrange as Abzan, Mardu back when khans was legal, Jund in modern and standard when alara was around, sultai delirium in pioneer, or 3 color decks in standard just before WAR was released.

Played against someone in plat playing this deck and honestly I'm not that impressed. Really hoping for an actual Bird tribal someday (then maybe a 2 mana lord). I've found that my Kaya + Doom Foretold deck is fairly effective against in the current meta. Maybe revisit Doom Foretold next? I run it Orzhov with 4xAgonizing Remorse main board (and Necromentia + Duress + Spyglass sideboard) to deal with Uro/Krasis/Ugin and the deck has 3xWraths and Oaths of Kaya in, which help against aggro. Kaya herself is great at both dealing with Uro and cat/oven and I put a couple Dawn of Hope to generate more card advantage/blockers. I'm also running 2x the new 2 Mana tome over some of the Guild Globes.

I think you need more than four dual lands. The optimal choice is Temple of Enlightenment, but since it also comes into play untapped Tranquil Cove is an easy way to keep the budget down, especially on Arena where rare wildcards are expensive.

Honestly, Seth... I love your content, but it seriously annoys me that you think that 15 Rares is anything close to "budget"... For a free to play player, that takes nearly three months of playing literally everyday to reach such a high amount

Budget Magic is a weird series thanks to Arena. Traditionally the budget has only cared about paper prices, but more recently I've been trying to keep the number of rares down for Arena too. Question: what amount of rares would you find budget as a FTP player on Arena?

@@MTGGoldfish for a free to play user, I'd say around 5 or 6. The other question is whether the rares are worth crafting or not. A Steel Overseer, for example, isn't worth crafting as much because it can only be used in one or two decks, while an Incubation Druid can be used in pretty much every ramp deck that has green. That's only my opinion, though, I'm sure other players have other views on the issue... Still, thank you for listening :3 i didn't mean this comment as hate or mindless complaining, I just wanted you to understand a different point of view 😅 Also: MTG Jeff recently made a straw pole on his channel and 1-6 rares seemed to be the overall concensus

As another free to play player, I respectfully disagree. I think budget takes into account that some amount of these rares will be required for alot of decks. The shock lands are a given in this case, so that drops the number of rares specifically for this deck. As a f2p player, I currently have 22 wildcards after dumping a handful into historic. I think 15 is viable

If you were presented a brand new deck with 11 rares, none of which you owned, would you consider that dropping half your rare WCs would still qualify as budget? Personally, I already have nearly every single rare that's in this deck, but that won't apply for every other deck built for Arena
