Caro Isaac, stupefacente, queste sono operazioni musicali che riuscivano solo a Thomas Schippers, sei proprio bravo. I cantanti, giovanissimi poi sono bravissimi e preparati alla perfezione.

@@QueenCityOperaQCO, montare un Sigfried e' un lavoro immane, bisogna averlo nell'anima altrimenti il risultato e terribile. Specie il tenore del primo atto e' perfetto e questa Brunhilde del terzo e' magnifica. L'orchestra e' anche lei perfetta. Io vivo in Italia ma l'opera si fa solo nei grandi teatri e i risultati sono molto lontani da questi che ascolto qua. Soprattutto la grande passione e la musicalita' rafforzata dallo studio. L'aver proposto Montemezzi, grande musicista, e' stato geniale. Si, il vostro lavoro mi piace tantissimo. Vedo che parli italiano, mentre io purtroppo non parlo l'inglese.

@@QueenCityOperaQCO i am actually a conductor myself, even though i don't really conduct u.s. oprchestras. i have before, but mostly it's out of country orchestras. wagner's ring cycle is my favourite to conduct.

J'aime pour le pari de monter un tel opéra avec des moyens si réduits. Même si parfois on pourrait mettre en cause la perfection musicale, j'ai apprécié les astuces de mise en scène et on ne peut qu'encourager de telles initiatives. Bravo, c'est une belle initiative.

This whole production is a very good hint for some problems you can have with Wagner: 1. In the last minutes, Brünnhilde's voice is more a crying than singing. 2. All in all the chosen singers were just not what Wagner wanted to have on stage, sorry. 3. The conductor seems not to be in control of the Wagnerian sound. The brass is much too hard at the beginning an at the very end, the accents at the end are more "we need to come to an end", which really does not do anything for the opera. "Siegfried" is a fast opera, maybe the fastest in the whole Ring, but you are not allowed to interpret the tempo as "superficial play is allowed".

I've seen many, and heard all, of Wagner operas (including non-operas). My basis is Georg Solti. I kindly suggest that having a Ouija talk with Wagner isn't ... useful. Queen City Opera makes this musical available, to everyone. That is the point of democracy. Wagner, with his socialist past, wouldn't disagree with me. To Queen City Opera: vielen Dank!
