Wish I could buy shares in Isaac Selya's career. Again he proves what opera is about: music and voices and emotion, not stage machinery.

Really impressive, Isaac. Love your Fafnir (dragon). I am a subscriber to San Francisco Opera and Opera San Jose. I also attend regional opera like West Bay Opera in Palo Alto (Stanford) and the West Edge Opera Festival. Queen City Chamber Opera is really a cut above the regional opera offerings here in the Bay Area. And, I love the concept of your company ... giving top notch young talent an opportunity to build their repertoire and vitae. The singing is great, and I'm especially impressed with your orchestra. Wagner is *hard* to play and conduct because the music is through-composed. When I saw Meistersigners von Neurenburg last year (6.5 hours with two intermissions), they had to have back-up Wagnerian horn players from L.A. ... just in case. Your company will be getting a donation soon. Keep up the good work !!!

So much better than the whimsical muck oozing from Bayreuth's stage.

I swear this dragon is better than the Otto Schenk one. Go get 'em Queen City!

Actually its interpretation is very dificult due to the wagner's ambiguity in its definition , It's not a Lindwurm (Dragon) or a Schlange (Snake) or a Wurm (Worm) it's a kind of weird Reptile.

At 1:15:50 no wonder he is having such a difficult time moving the dragon back into the garage. He left the parking brake on and it’s dragon.

I just don't know what to say... what an ambitious project! Chapeau! Though the costumes and set look like a kindergarten production and a director might have helped the quite, well, unexperienced singers, it is still an interesting experience. The conducting seems held back somehow, but I definitely like the conductor's hair.

Very good job Isaac, I realy enjoyed your conduction. Your artistic work is very loyal to the wagner's original idea. But I'm a little bit disappointed.. where is the act III, the Brünhild's awakening? :( It's my favorite part of this Opera. Thank you very much!
