I live in California, USA. I awoke this morning thinking about Trump's tariffs. My blouse came from Honduras; my pants from Bangladesh. I went to the kitchen and discovered that my tahini is from Lebanon, dried peppers from Mexico. My cuticle oil is from Italy. While I may not be purchasing these products made in these nations, the US produces weapons, lots of weapons. I can wear or eat weapons. I don't want packaged GMOs and chemical faux food. People best think very hard about these tariffs, sanctions, proxy wars, trade wars. If people in the US are deeply concerned about fraud and waste, they may want to demand the closure of at least half of the over 800 US military bases in over 100 nations, for a start.

As a non US citizen I am amazed of how many Americans are against what their country is facing. Of course there are the uneducated Trump supporters who think these tariffs are positive, but I've never seen a nation so divided as much as now. These tariffs are no different from what caused the American Revolution which ironically resulted in the USA gaining it's independence from the high taxes charged by the British colonial masters.
