I watch your videos from time to time but now its a bit more impactful as I think I will finally be pulling the trigger on an LS swap for my hotrod. Plans are mostly stock but intake, cam and headers are likely the only big upgrades not counting any supporting upgrades like springs and such for the heads. And the largest reason for wanting to swap the intake is for the look, that big plastic thing isn't exactly appealing and to just be rid of anything unnecessary. Might even go with a carburetor intake and run a Holley sniper efi or similiar for that more traditional feel. Idk yet.

Come to find out my younger brother burned up the motor in 2019 and the only thing he could find quickly was a 6.0 that was supposed to go in an 09 Sierra1500 HD, but was a factory reject because of wrong angles on the cylinders. The machine shop my brother got it from buys these rejects and bores and sleeves them. I've determined it's not flex fuel and has 862 heads. So I'm 99% sure my Sierra 1500 that I paid $5,000 for has a YL6 with less than 80,000 miles on it that had been sitting in a shop from 2010-2019. 😃 I wish the block casting numbers were in a more convenient location!

We are an emissions state and many people want to use their Vacuum boosters without going Hydroboost. In Washington State, we are allowed to modify but HP and Torque numbers can only help so far. I've been watching the videos looking for vacuum on your control panel screen during your dyno runs but trying to see them at idle is tough because the video is typically about above 2K rpms. @@richardholdener1727 what I'm getting at will there be any advantage of having a bigger bore and 4.8 stroke .rather than bigger stroke of a 5.3 and similar cubic inches .
@richardholdener1727 Жыл бұрын
there will be no gain from the bigger bore until you get very high in the power level and can take advantage of additional airflow that might be possible from the change in bore size, that might not happen until you reach 600 hp or so

Those bigger cams are sceaming for the right intake and 7500 rpm or more. It seems the art of matching the cam rpm range to the intake rpm range is lost these days.
