@B. Laroussi The brightness is the same with 2 or 3 batteries as the driver regulates it. The difference is it will last longer running the light with 3 batteries vs 2 batteries. I have this light and really like it. Got mine for $20. Can't beat what you get for the price. This light is not a thrower. It provides a wall of light and a lot of it. Walking down the street this light will light up the whole block. This is a nice light, no doubt about it.

Picked one of the extended tube versions for only $37.95 with free shipping. Figured it looked like a pretty good bang for the buck. We live in the country and many times we'll have deer in the yard and if we need to go outside during the night for whatever reason it'll be nice to have this bad boy around. Walked out into the yard one night ( without a flashlight, like an idiot ) and had an 8 point Buck come walking up toward me from out of the darkness. Needless to say, I ran like hell back into the house. lol

***** If it'd got close enough to me I'd have punted it like a football. Gawd I hate possums. I think it all started when I was about 11 years old. Back in the mid 70's my dad had an old Chevrolet station wagon that he used to let my brother and I drive up and down the secluded clay roads around where we lived. We had blown a radiator hose on it one time and there was another old Chevy toward the back of the property we owned so I thought I'd see if the radiator hose on it would fit the wagon. Had a hard time lifting the hood of the car because the brackets were so rusted so I crouched low to give myself some added leverage. Just as I cracked the hood about 6 inches a possum leaped toward my face hissing with its teeth bared and then it slowly backed back under the hood into the dark like some evil entity. Scared the crap out me. lol

Seems that a glass lens is a fault, unless it is tempered. One of the really nice things about LED flashlights is they are rugged as a chunk of granite. A glass lens takes some of that ruggedness away. Would prefer a polycarbonate lens.

Is it possible to use 3x 21700 batteries for this tr3t6 flashlight?
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no. The tube does not have the extra 3mm of diameter required for the 21700 as well they would also be 5mm longer each which I'm sure the tube could handle because of the springs but it would be tight too. It's really bright and anyone I have ever pointed it at (by mistake) saw red spots afterwards (including me). It's a great light and I still have it and use it regularly. As far as he 10,000 Lumen goes that's impossible for a regular person like me to verify. The equipment you need to test it is far more expensive than I'm willing to pay. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

I have a Trust fire TR-3T6 with extra tube that I bought at a yard sale with no batteries or anything for $2.00. Do you think it is worth investing in to get the batteries, charger, extra batteries for this? Or do think that this being 2017, there are now better options? if you think I should get everything for this light, what are the best batteries and the best charger? Thanks!
@richardlloydusa

Wow! You certainly got a great deal on that light. I still use this light at Amazon: amzn.to/1fDRIVg as one of my go to lights. I would build on this deal by getting a set of protected 18650 3400mAh cells like these at Ebay: goo.gl/3jnxnV these are the type I use. Then you will need a reliable charger. Here is the one I use the Nitecore Intellicharge i4 Smart Charger at Amazon: amzn.to/2sbzXvI You can go cheap with all this gear but trust me it's not worth it you will end up with less than optimum results. Thanks.

ChristopherLunde Then there is something wrong with your batteries or your light. 2500 mAh is milliamp hours. It is a measure of the amount of energy the battery can store. It should still output the required voltage to turn the light on. Have you fully charged them? If not do so. Otherwise check the output from the batteries with a meter. But they should at least turn the light on.

buckeyefan635 The batteries I have and link to seem to work well. I am going to cut one of them open soon and make a video on that. It seems that there are so many fakes and imposter batteries out there that it is really a crap shoot. Basically at this point all I can say is the ones I got were a good value. BTW I just bought the TangsFire® Super Bright 6000 which looks the same as the Skyray King X3. LOL Make sure you get a charger as well.

lost 9 minutes of life to find out that the guy is not REALLY gonna disassemble! i mean wtf, like, he unscrewed tubes and took of the o-rings. man, when you say disassemble, people wanna see the driver - first and foremost, circuitry, soldering, heatsinking quality, that's where flashlights differ, you can buy c8 lights from 3 to 50 bucks, they all have basically same hosts.

@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 11 жыл бұрын
jacob manalang Not familiar with the olight m3x triton, there are so many flashlights, but from what I can see it has one Cree LED light so it will not be as bright as this light because this light has three Cree LED's. That is probably why it specs the larger batteries too. The Olight also seems to have a strange way to change modes which will require two hands to operate, where as this light has only the rear switch which can be switched with only your thumb. Last but not least this light with 4 batteries and a charger will cost you less than $40.00 if you use the links I supplied in the description. The Olight is $125.00 with two batteries and a charger. But you do get a carry case and a holster. You have to way it all up and come up with pro and con list that suits your needs. Personally I still think this light is a great value. I hope that helped. BTW I just took mine out and used it and it is plenty bright with a good focus. Thanks for asking and watching.

It seems to me that the 3rd battery will make it brighter, not run longer. The batteries are in series so the voltage ads up and the amperage remains the same. The would need to be in parallel to add up the amps and keep the voltage at 3.7 like in those "soda can" lights the have 4 in parallel. Looks like a good light. I'm deciding between this and one of those SecurityIng soda can lights.

Richard Lloyd dam it.. i bought it online.. it has no waranty T_T at first it was working fine.. but then it suddenly won't turn off anymore.. i cant even change modes
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 10 жыл бұрын
sze728 Take the end cap off (switch) and just make it touch the tube to turn it on and off to see if the modes change. If the modes change when you are doing this then the head unit is working OK, if not it's a problem with the head unit. If the modes change when you do this then the problem is in the switch in the end cap. You can take the end cap apart with a pair of Snap Ring Pliers but when I took mine apart it is a sealed switch soldered to a simple circuit board. You might find some sort of mechanical problem when you take it apart that you can repair. Does it click when you press the button? Perhaps the assembly is lose. If your head unit is the issue I believe the only fix is to replace it. Thanks
@sze728
@sze728 10 жыл бұрын
Richard Lloyd it does change modes when i make it touch sa tube.. so my problem is the Tailcap? :| my Tailcap does click but apparently it doesn't do anything :|
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 10 жыл бұрын
sze728 Looks like the problem is in the tail cap. It is stuck in the on position for some reason. I would take it apart and see what you can see. Even if you don't see a problem, the taking it apart, may fix just fix the short. The body of the flash light is the negative side of the circuit. So electricity right now is flowing from the negative contact on your battery directly to the body of the light. Disrupt that short and it should fix it. Good luck with it. Thanks

@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 10 жыл бұрын
Davor Jandrečić I don't test these lights for throw distance therefore I can not recommend a light that does what you are requesting. I would have to think that you require a light that has a focusable beam (has a lens). These lights are general purpose fixed beams so the further they throw light the more dispersed the light becomes. If you could adjust the beam by focusing it I am sure you could narrow it to a spot that would throw light to 200 meters. Before you buy any light make sure you check the reviews on Amazon for it. They generally help me greatly in making my decisions. Now that you have asked the question I will look into it further as I do have a few single 18650 lights that I can focus. Thanks

@richardlloydusa

Davor Jandrečić My focusable lights do throw light 100 metres but it is not very bright at that distance because the beam is about 20 metres wide at that point. I would check out Amazon for reviews for any lights you are considering from any source so you can get a good idea of the lights function. Thanks
