Truly one of the greatest songs ever written. It should be in every church songbook, regardless of religion or denomination.

This song is for my Mom. She was taken by Lord last Feb 25, 2019. I was given the opportunity to take care of her until her very last breath. Yes Mommy you filled the world with love eveyday. You gave so much love and care to your children and grandchildren. Your sacrifice were endless. You are now fully resting in the Hands of our Lord. Thank you Mommy for giving us the best of everything in your own humble way.

I found him while in the Army 1958 at Ft Gordon GA serving as a surgical assistant. He was my trip from reality with MacArthur Park. I had all his music and saw him in Camelot in Omaha. A real loss...one of the 3 Welsh·men. Such a dear loss. .

He said, to Burt Bacharach, in a (filmed) recorded presentation - that he was not a trained singer, but an actor (who sung), of a style (from the perspective of, so to speak) as ACTING out the lyrics, as one who may be feeling the emotions of that song. The vid to find is of the song "Shangri La" , here on YT. 🎶. It begins with the song, "Didn't We Girl", so ... wait for it. Enjoy :)

Richard Harris was a great actor who lived life to the fullest. Add to that his ability to sing some truly beautiful songs in his own inimitable style and he’s left us with a wonderful legacy. RIP Richard. ❤

I have just been to the funeral of someone who truly DID fill the world with love and we were exhorted to sing this and think about the words. Wonderful lyrics, great sentiments. If only we could all try and fill the world with love instead of hate.

This song just came to me the other night. I loved it in GOODBYE, MR. CHIPS but that was so many years ago. I hadn’t thought about it in forever. I’ve got many more years behind me than before me now. And I want this at my funeral. I taught elementary school for over 30 years, and I try to be the. Christian God expects me to be. I hope they’ll all say good things about me and how I DID fill the world with love. I’m only used to Petula Clark singing this. I had no idea Richard Harris had recorded it. I loved him so, and have all his albums. I guess I better go look.

Been loving his unique talent for many years; but, the morph @ :10, to the color skies - the scary, gloomy, unnatural, geoengineered skies of today ... made me look away, and just remember ... simpler days - and enjoying the song. Aaahhhh. 🎶:) 🎶

I totally echo "J.Treble" comment, below. I was listening to Richard sing all the way back in the early 70s when I was a young man. I had all of his albums. This song was one of my favorites. Such passion. I thought -and still think- that he was GREAT. I loved his album "Slides" and got many of my friends hooked on it. Mind you, we were all pounding away to the Zepplin, Pink Floyd, and James Brown in that same time frame. Such was the power of Richard's performance. Richard Harris- a Tramp Shining!

John Anderson, you just said the anthem of my life You're obviously an old soul I just commented about Led Zepplin on my other comments on another song Jimmy Webb and Richard Harris will always come first They were my first true musical loves since 1967 .. 50 years ago .. Unbelievable ! Love to you!!!!!

I received my deep & everlasting love of music & literature from my mother & my father. My Mom collected books. My Dad collected records. He & I shared a deep appreciation for the Irish actor Richard Harris' collaboration with American songwriter Jimmy Webb. We listened to Harris' "A Tramp Shining" album a thousand times even though the disc was slightly warped. Here is a track by Richard Harris that we never listened to, but if Dad were still alive, I know that he would like it & play it REALLY LOUD while nursing a scotch on the rocks. Love is not all you need, but without it, life has little meaning.

This is my favourite song of my life for the words for the message and whoever said Richard Harris could not sing, RUBBISH, he was an actor, but I KNOW he sang this song with as much sincerity as a person ever could. God bless him and all of us. If we all followed the words of this song along with the golden rule no one would need to be discussing this stupid Illuminati stuff or worrying about all the conspiracies that plague as all and fill us all with such fear that we end up hating others and they us for NO REASON at all.....god bless Richard Harris, who did drink a wee bit too much but a lot more interesting than any of the self righteous AA members or xian holy rollers who make me want to vomit Harris was a GOOD man he lived hard and he loved life and he is an example to LIVE by not to be constantly looking for things to be at war with or kill whether it be the Arabs or drugs or germs...kill kill kill war war war is how it is for most and most live and die this way not Richard Harris and not Peter O Toole they would be been destroyed by the srinks and do gooders!!!

Yes you are so right. I heard this played on the radio less than half an hour ago and the discussion was that he was a singer who could act and an actor who could sing. Beautiful song.... and the words are so very true, as are also, the words you've spoken.
