@jaySosa1260
@jaySosa1260 3 жыл бұрын
@@barbaraa5538 After the HireVue/CodeVue you should receive an invite to fill in a location preference survey that also has some other generic questions like transcript, reasons for location selection, etc. I think I got this invite after a week or maybe a little less after submitting my HireVue/CodeVue. Also, to give you some context, I submitted my application at the very end of October and had my final round interview on 12/10. Now I’m just waiting for the results... if they even reach back out to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. I’m 40 years old and getting ready to retire from the Army after 22 years active duty. is the coding portion of the interview screen recorded? I get nervous when people are watching me while I test/code.
@epiksar
@epiksar 2 жыл бұрын
I shared my screen live, but it was for a full-time position. They didn't ask me to test or run anything; it was just to see if I understood fundamental concepts. You should be fine, especially if you use an IDE that prepares template code and autocorrects for you. I used a simple editor and coded from scratch, so I was a lot more anxious about giving terrible code. I was an extended an offer, though.

Hi, I was considering which CS bachelor program I should choose between University of Toronto and University of Waterloo. could you give me some suggestions? By the way, I do not have much coding experiences, I only learn CS courses in my high school like some python courses and javascript courses. Can I learn CS well in university if I only have some basic programming skill?
@RichardShu
@RichardShu 3 жыл бұрын
Not from Canada, so I have limited knowledge on the best schools, but I heard UWaterloo has an incredible co-op program which helps you secure 4-6 internships before you graduate, so I would definitely look into that! To answer your 2nd question, I don't think you need to have any CS background before entering university (I certainly didn't). Just pay attention in your data structures and algorithms courses, go to hackathons, LeetCode, and apply to internships early.

My reply is kind of late, but I personally wouldn't stress too much about the specific university and focus more on choosing the cheaper school. In my experience, the conversation around what university I went to rarely was ever mentioned. What was more important was that I studied CS somewhere and had an aptitude for thinking about code. Just focus on excelling and learning in the computer science program you choose. Anyway, I hope you've been successful these past months and good luck.

Prepare short answers to common questions and answer in STAR format. Some common questions are: - Greatest strength/weakness - Most challenging project / technical problem you've solved - A time you learned a new skill - A time you went above and beyond for a project - A bug you encountered and how you fixed it

Did you need to put your gpa on your resume?. Like is it important for internships??
@RichardShu
@RichardShu 3 жыл бұрын
A general guideline is to only list your GPA if it's 3.0 or above. If your cumulative GPA isn't that great, you can also consider listing your major GPA in place of or next to your cumulative GPA. In the grand scheme of things, GPA isn't nearly as important as work experience or eye-catching project, but it definitely carries more weight for internships than full-time jobs.
@epiksar
@epiksar 2 жыл бұрын
My reply is late, but I agree with Richard. GPA hardly matters. Your aptitude for coding and personality are a lot more important than your GPA, even more so once you get experience under your belt. Good luck.
