I have discovered that a practical strategy involves reserving the device’s dock for essential applications and utilizing the home screens as dedicated areas for widgets that provide crucial information.

That's a great idea and I like the way you describe it!

thanks Rich you got me interested in clearing the clutter! so I decided to pay attention to what apps I use everyday or week. based on those results I started to clean up the clutter. I am down to 2 screens with apps I use i eliminated 2screens. I like apps on my screen not ready to send them all to the Library. my 2 screens are looking good. I’m down to single apps on each screen along with 3 folders with 9 apps each. I will be working on them next. anyway thanks for showing me the way. oh I also changed my wall paper, color and a the size of each app which eliminates the title of each app.

I've not played with automation enough to be 100% confident...but I'm pretty sure you can do time based focus modes, to switch between My Day & My Evening focus modes Or may be able to do location based automation if focus modes were "Office" & "Home"
@RichBowlinАй бұрын
Yes! You can do time-based focus modes. I thought about adding that and then I thought I wanted to keep things simple. But I'm planning a video on Focus Modes in more detail soon. Thanks so much for watching!

As a senior I take offence to the implication that seniors need “simple” phone screens.
@biblebelter9772Ай бұрын
My screen may be more minimalist than yours. Of course, I had the advantage of acquiring my first so-called smart phone last year at the age of 73. That and I haven't bothered to hook-up my I-Phone to a cell carrier although I purchased a sim card from Tello six months ago. I love the device and found it very useful, but maybe I would have been better off with an I-Pad although I love the small form factor of the SE 2020. The other advantage is I-Phone apps over I-Pad apps. Your video on Air Pods Pro as a hearing aid have me leaning toward purchasing them. My understanding is a I-Phone app would be required to take the test and set them up.
@RichBowlinАй бұрын
Gld to hear you like your SE iPhone. It's rumored a new SE is on the horizon that I'll probably get if the form factor remains smaller than the other phones. If you do get an iPad you won't regret it. They're a great tool. Thanks so much for watching!
@allanfreeman6131Ай бұрын
The hearing test is built into the phone, no extra app needed.

I have never really been a fan of the focus function but I really like what you did by having a day and an evening focus. Can you make focus for as many as you want? I was thinking of a focus for certain folders that I currently have. Example, I have a folder for tools / references, diet / health work items etc ... I have been trying to figure out how to make my screens cleaner. Thank you for you great videos
@RichBowlinАй бұрын
Yes - you can do what you've described. In fact, I'm planning a video on Focus Modes in a more detailed fashion. There are many ways you can use these that are so handy. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi Rich, can you do a video on photos, with the update it’s all different. How did you get your photos to look bigger, mine are so small on my ipad under all photos? How can I get all my photos to show up under the albums I’ve made as all photos?
@RichBowlinАй бұрын
I'll be working on a Photos app video soon. I'm having a hard time trying to figure it out. It's sort of a mess with the new update. Once I get a handle on it I'll make a video. Thanks so much for watching!

@ thank you, its very confusing, I haven’t updated my iPhone for that reason
@roviwoteap237527 күн бұрын
Yeah, Apple really messed up with the new photo app. As they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” It’s almost like they just played around with it for the sake of it. A total waste of time. They need to add a “revert to old photo app” in their next iOS release.

iOS Home Screen set up is still circa 2008 vs Android. My iPhone is so messy vs Android that takes very little time to manage.

Sorry for the long post. First let me start by saying I enjoy watching your videos and I do learn from them. I’ve been an avid longtime KZbin listener since back in 2007 so I’ve seen how it’s evolved over the years and one annoying evolution is advertisements. I understand why it’s there and how it helps content creators but they’re still annoying for the most part and I’m bring that up because I notice that your channel is growing nicely and that’s a good thing but since you’ve added the advertising to your channel, this video in particular has an extremely long advertisement so please consider shortening them. Thank goodness I’m a longtime premium KZbin subscriber so I can just tap my iPhone several times to fast forward past them but non premium subscribers can’t do that. I remember back in the day when KZbin videos didn’t have baked in advertisements so if you were a KZbin premium subscriber, you never saw the advertisement at all and didn’t have to fast-forward past them. Last thing I would like to suggest, because I recall your earlier videos being geared towards seniors, which I am one but I’m thankful to be very tech savvy but not so much that I can’t learn or reinforce what I already know so that being said, I noticed that you mentioned that you prefer downloading your wallpapers from the web, while that may be safe in some cases, especially if it’s a trusted website but if it’s not it can cause harm to the person downloading them and I’m sure you still have a lot of seniors that still view your channel so they are the most vulnerable to something like that so I just wanted to point that out. Overall, great content so keep it up and much success.

Isn’t the whole idea of having devices that can be personalised….. a personal thing?
@Kit2CanadaАй бұрын
@3204 I don’t get the feeling he’s telling us to copy/clone his layout - just the method - and some suggestions. Just as a for instance, my town has so many parking meters I’m putting the pay-for-parking App on my Home Screen - as I’m sure you have some local requirements or preferences. I just hope it’s not parking meters !
