It is time to begin discussing the failure of Stere Kerr and Warriors ownership/management to handle this situation. Are the Warriors really better with Green? Would they have gotten better value by trading him away? How much does his behavior negatively impact the productivity of the rest of the team? Does Green's misconduct raise the level of play of his teammates, or does it bring it down? Does the argument that his "enthusiasm" motivates his peers continue to have any credibility? How many championships have the Warriors last by keeping Green on the team? Kerr and Warriors leadership seem to be dropping the ball.

They have certainly lost the ability to control him and it’s gone way too far but to question his on court credentials is foolish. The lost a championship in 2016 because he was suspended but that wasn’t the only reason. He dropped 35 in game 7 and had phenomenal play when on the court. They don’t win in their other championship years without him either. They needed his defense/size to throw at lebron in 2015. They wouldn’t have gotten past the rockets teams because if he wasn’t there it would’ve been Javale McGee or Zaza getting cooked on iso switches not to mention they always went into PnR late and when the trap came it dropped into him to play 4 on 3. 2022 Celtics continuously played curry 1 on 1 or in drop and let him shoot over the top. Historically everyone else would trap but they decided they’d rather let curry shoot than let Draymond attack 4 on 3s downhill. His antics are childish and embarrassing but his level of play cannot be questioned

The Warriors have been coddling this guy too long. I'm a fan and have seen all this from close up. This has been happening for over 7 years. They tolerated the bad because of all the good. He cost the team a championship by first kicking Adams in the nuts and taking LeBron's bait, putting the team out of whack for games 5-7. Granted, Steph was playing hurt from slipping in Houston and then they lost Bogut, but he opened the floodgates of the collapse. When times got awkward with Durant, he blew up the relationship. When the team should have been on a title defense, he put a dark cloud over the team by punching Jordan Poole, which over a year later is still hanging over the team. Bob Myers was wise to get out before having to face the music of the team dysfunction.

You can argue Draymond cost the Warriors multiple championships since he ran Durant out of town and broke a young up and coming player in Jordan Poole and the 2016 championship.

I don’t know why people, especially the media is pushing this narrative that he is better than what he really is he’s an average player at best. The only reason why he ends up in the Hall of Fame is because he played on the Warriors. Don’t get me wrong. He had a roll and played it very well, but when it comes down to it and he was on a different team, no one would be talking about him. He would’ve probably been out of the league already. They honestly shouldn’t let him in the Hall of Fame until he dies kind of the Pete rose treatment just because of all the crap that he’s doing and shame on the players union for defending the sky instead of the other players that he’s been hurting. They are back in the wrong person.

Thank you! Looking at his career stats, nothing jumps out at me that screams "Hall of Famer" having several rings doesn't expedite that decision.

He's as important to the defense as Curry is to the offense. With the exception of Durant, he's been the second best player on the Warriors during this dynasty. And if you've watched as many Dubs games over the past decade as I have, I'm sure you'd agree. Look at how terrible the Dubs record is in games he doesn't play. He's a defensive juggernaut.

@@dnllrntDefense doesn’t really show up on the stats sheets my man. Anyone saying Draymond isn’t good (at least historically) simply doesn’t actually know ball beyond the TV screen. This has nothing to do with his suspension, but to act like he’s just some average player is just not true.
@nifemi_o11 ай бұрын
People are saying he's cost his team multiple times by being suspended, yet you think he was an average player. Ask yourself, why didnt the team get better or stay the same when he wasnt there? why did they get significantly worse? Looking at stat totals never tells the whole story, everyone should know this by now.

So i understand and i am sensitive to mental health issues, and im sorry i dont think that is the case here with green. I feel like they are trying to paint it as that so they can handle it quietly and make it go away. Number 1, its repeated behavior and not just to opponents but to his own teammates. Whose to say he hasnt shoved steph in a practice? Just because we havent heard about it. Secondly, the fact that he is not apologetic. This is the case of a stereotypical narcissist. He swings on players he knows arent gonna hit him back, barks about it and then afterward plays the victim. Hes basically a bully whose never been humbled.

Great doctor, thanks for the mental health analysis. It's pro sports, go watch a hockey game and see the punishment players met out night after night. What a soft society we have become.

So masks dont ever come off when hocky players fight? The gloves come off first. There are plenty of cheap shots in hocky, thats usually why they come to blows. I can tell you don't watch any hocky at all and have zero knowledge of the sport. I'm no dim wit when it comes to pro sports, and i'm often wrong but never in doubt. Have a good day.
@vindigga611 ай бұрын
@@gregrizzo8054 yea no duh gloves and helmets come off during a fight, im talking about getting checked. If your talking about fighting in sports, specifically hockey. In 2019 the NHL has already started the process of discouraging fighting. And trust you and me the NHL is one bad fight away from banning it, its just a matter of time friend. And im sorry to disagree but cheap shots shouldnt be tolerated in any sport. Green specifically has kick 3 people in the nuts, sucker punched his teammate and no swung at someone. At some point hes gonna hurt someone and its gonna impact a playoff game or championship. And then what? Im all for hard physical play but not swinging at a guy unprovoked.

@@vindigga6 We agree on most everything you wrote there. Dray is a menace and deserves whatever punishment he gets. The rest of the season would be ok with me and i'm a huge Warriors fan. I disagree that Hockey is one fight away from being banned, its part of the sport. All they have to do is make the fines and suspensions so severe that they will eventually go away. Part of me thinks they don't want that to happen otherwise it already would have. Just my 2 cents worth. Be well.

I find it hypocritical of the people who have been covering the NBA not the 80’s and 90’s, who have reported how back then it was entertainment and they loved it because it was basketball all of a sudden feel his play isn’t warranted… like stoooppppp. They are just saying what they need to say to not get cancelled.

Draymond's Finals suspension was for getting 7 techs in the playoffs (which is the same as 16 in a season). He SHOULD have been suspended against OKC but neither technically had anything to do with it. You get 7 techs in the playoffs and that's basically the same postgame penalty as a red card: you are ineligible for the next game. He was annoying af that postseason.
@matthewhuszarik417311 ай бұрын

If this was the 80s 90s or even 2000s I wouldn't mind greens behavior because there were enough players back then that if he did that to their teammates then they would be fighting on-site. Dray is now the only enforcer that think he can still intimidate other players who just want to play ball.
