Great interview. The Yankees won’t be the same when Kay retires. He’s been there through the terrible early 90s Yankees, the mid to late 90s dynasty, 9/11, jester and Mariano’s entire career, 09 World Series and everything in between. Legend

Michael Kay is so interesting, so good at what he does, so informative, etc...but and I say this as a Yankees lifer...he is 100% a schill for Yankees ownership...and it's made worse that he pretends he's not 🤣

It's definitely not 100% because he rips them at times too. I just think he loves his job and wants to keep it, but sometimes he says things that you know he's getting ripped for.

@@MoMoMyPup10 It's far and few in-between though. He definitely carries water for Hal and Cashman and Boone (especially) when they each deserve some heavy criticism. I will agree he wants to keep his job and I get it...YES is owned by the Yankees and they sign his checks...and if he just said that once, okay...but he acts impartial when he's really not. Just my opinion

It's hard to call Mariano Rivera the most clutch Yankee when he blew the 01 WS and the 04 ALCS. I get it, he's amazing and he's human, I'm not knocking him for that, and he saved a million more that we may have lost without him, but those were big ones to blow. If he had blown game 1 of the WS or something, that would be one thing, but he blew last inning, game 7 of the 01 WS. That is huge
@johnmcnicholas1119
@johnmcnicholas1119 9 күн бұрын
Had Mariano not blown that save Enrique Wilson of the Yankees would’ve died on flight 587. And I don’t think many Yankee fans regret the 2001 World Series. Those 3 games the Yankees won at home after 9/11 were some of the best games

Anyone else think Derek Jeter's stock has fallen the last few years? There were like some videos made highlighting how poor he was defensively and I think some ppl got turned off by it. They had this view of him as a super shortstop with the flip play against Oakland, and now it's like some ppl think it was all a mirage bc advanced metrics say he wasn't a good defender
