For some of those people wanting to argue the two all time receiving seasons wouldn't matter, because it's the receiver's accomplishment.. Jerry Rice's season came with Steve Young, Larry Fitzgerald's with Kurt Warner... And for those pointing to how these Rams were a "stacked" team: so were the Bucs even before Brady got there and yet they were held back by QB play.. And many other teams in history who still couldn't win it all 🤷🏻‍♂️ Even an all time great WR or a "stacked"/"super" team needs the right trigger man to achieve the highest of highs in individual and/or team success.. Usually a pretty great one, which Stafford absolutely is (and always has been)
@thedarkemissary

Except Young accomplished without Rice and Warner accomplished without Fitzgerald. Stafford's 1 Pro Bowl vs 11 Pro Bowls, 4 MVPs and 2 Super Bowl MVPs makes your comparison a joke. He couldn't even get Super Bowl MVP in your own narrative of he was the key to Rams winning it. Stafford fans seem to forget that every yardage record he's ever achieved has also come with the "most attempts" record.

💯💯💯!!! Matthew Stafford didn't win all the accolades bc he chose to stay with the team that picked him. He tried all he could to help them win even when he was harming his body. Yes, he did suffer through a lot and had a lot of INTs trying to desperately win games with an inept team but he still threw a lot of yards bc of that arm. This guy throws like Favre and Rodgers but they had and have better players to help them look viable. Matthew Stafford never had that until this year and he won the SB with it. They even picked Kyler Murray over Stafford for some award this season when his QB stats was only second to Brady!!! What must he do to get his recognition? I guess they will believe it next year bc if they had watched him all these years, they would already know!!!

Stafford's W/L record as a starter is 86-95-1, a win rate of 47.5%. But let me show you just how godawful the Lions are without him. Their record since the retirement of Barry Sanders and without Matt Stafford as the starting quarterback (including Stafford's 27 missed games to injury) is 48-147-1. That's a win rate of 24.6%. It's like playing for 12 seasons and going 4-12 every year but one, and that year was 3-13-1 (this year). Stafford carried that team. He hard carried that team. But you can't make the pro bowl when the rest of the team sucks and no one outside your division is watching the games. Literally everyone in the NFC north knows. I don't think Eisen realizes he's actually bolstering Sherman's point with almost everything he's saying. To be clear, Stafford has time. But to say he didn't do much cuz he had a bad organization is contradicted by the guy he just played int he Superbowl: Joe Burrow. The Bengals have been just as inept an organization and Burrow takes them to the Superbowl in within 2 years. Not saying Burrow is a HOF'er obviously, but what he just did is the kind of thing HOF'ers do and if he keeps that up then he will be. Saying someone isn't a HOF'er isn't an insult...it speaks to the standards of being a HOF'er. The circumstances you were in is part of the HOF journey. As a QB you don't get to say "well I didn't succeed cuz my organization sucked but I'm still a HOF'er cuz look at my longevity stats". A WR can say. A RB can say that. But that's cuz they don't influence the game as much as QBs. QB is a special position. Playing in this passing era for a long time with above average talent will inevitably result in gaudy stats. But if you didn't win much and rarely top 5 at ur position (if ever) you can't be a HOF'er. But again...he has time.
