Richie is not underrated guitarist, in fact he is very much appreciated guitarist. He enjoys his time with Judas priest and shouldn't be compared to K K Downing as he is unique and one of his kind. His skills are incredible and he learned that through his own hard work. Richie you are awesome, very talented musician

I saw Priest a couple months ago and I remember thinking it's to bad KK isn't with them. I couldn't keep my eyes of this Faulkner kid. So energetic and appreciative to be part of Priest. It was cool watching Glen sit back and give the kid the spotlight. I came away really impressed.

I don't care of which is better between KK and Faulkner, they are both amazing, just different. KK was a killing machine, but Ritchie gots his own style, and he's really an incredible guitarist.

According to an interview Priest did fairly recently, one of Richie/Rob/Glenn, actually said that this exact solo in the video we're watching inspired the main riff for "Spectre" off Firepower, and I imagine that this portion of the solo is where they took the individual notes and reworked it for Spectre
@raysmetaltracks67822 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, this was the very first I had ever seen of Richie. I was sour grapes at first. Aint nobody going to take KK's place!! (I'm an old dude, The Priest was the band that got me into music back in the very early 80's. Okay, I guess I'll see about this Richie kid, I thought. After watching this solo of his, I was SOLD. So much style, but humble at the same time. He keeps that Priest history sacred, but also brings his own flair to the band. Safe to say I'm a huge Faulkner (or Falconer, as Rob calls him) fan.
@elcee45569 ай бұрын
Fun fact. 1:02 is now the intro riff of the new song “Gates of Hell”. Richie put that riff into good use
@torkelsvenson64118 ай бұрын
Yeah, I reacted to that the first time I heard it. Same with one of his solos for EMG TV from 2012 being alot like the solo in that song
