A great performance by all. However: Orianthi dueted with Steve Vai on the instrumental and video “Highly Strung” in 2009. I could not tell their parts apart--she’s that good. I love Richie Sambora’s playing in Bon Jovi. But Orianthi as a sideman here, on generic “bluesy” white noise and cover tunes, is a huge waste of guitar skill and creativity. Hiding most of her face under the shadow of that wide brim hat, is unintentionally symbolic of her masked potential.

Sambora was at his prime in 2012. Anything about him was amazing, during the whole tour. Now I just can’t take him for real anymore. He left Bon Jovi for no reason but is relying on BJ songs all the time.

Not condoning perhaps an average performance, but the whole band throughout seems to be having technical/equipment issues - monitors, blown out bass drum skins, guitar amps and guitars (except Orianthi). The type of thing happens but the crew don't seem proactive, I guess they were supplied by the event rather than RSOs usual crew. RSO seem to be trying to be everything to everybody - songwriters as well as a jam band. Its a great combination if it works, but it doesn't always work as Richie particularly seems to overplay. When Richie's on he's amazing, but it just feels like he's just trying to keep up with Orianthi (he's always talking about how good she is). Nothing wrong in stretching out but needs to work better together rather soloing over each other consistently.

This is just depressing to watch,specially considering how much promising Orianthi's career begun. She's the textbook example of wasted potential.She started in the music scene with everything,she had the talent,the looks,the PR from that MJ-documentary,lots of famous people like Santana,Vai,Paul Reed Smith etc. hyping her up.She could have been an established solo artist in the mainstream blues/rock genre,like Bonamassa,John Mayer,Jonny Lang or Gary Clark Jr. Instead she's wasting her time,playing second fiddle to a walking 80's-hasbeen rockstar stereotype,even worse she has become a walking blonde-way too young toygirl of said hadbeen 80's rockstar stereotype herself.

I hate to be that guy, but this is awful for professionals. Musically they have little sense of dynamics, Orianthi sounds good as a guitar player but she's got the same problem as Sambora, neither of them ever pull back or shut up. It's just an unrelenting wail fest, even when the sax player is soloing. They sound like they've been listening to each other as soloists 'cause they both seem to follow the same pattern; a few wailing pentatonic bits and then a widdley widdley bit. They're playing like a decent, from the middle of nowhere, cover band. That metal like version of One Way Out, added nothing new, special, personal, nothing, just a cheap fast food version of the Allmans. Same with Pride & Joy. Some songs not good for her range, they can both sing and play but it just needs to be reeled in if they're going to try to make anything of this partnership. They might think, "it's only Rock and Roll, lighten up" but I say, you can't afford to throw it away in these days. You need to be tight, concise and authentic on some level. I wanted to like their partnership but I can't. I'm embarrassed for them.

That makes sense, theres no conceivable way anyone could endure this from start to finish. Kenny was right..."gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em". A nice long break is needed.

Sambora's a mess.The whole thing was not even up to decent amateur standards.Terrible sounds quality and mix. I can't even say the guitar playing was good, average at best. Time to give it up Richie. Bon Jovi was a great trip but Richie has nothing to offer now if this is his standard. I feel saddened as I was a big fan of his guitar playing and vocals.
