So what happens if the tax lien is , say, $1000, and i bought it for $3000 ( in the auction) does the owner of the house pays me $1000 or $3000 back

@@mblitch Owner pays the County 1000 + interest and the county return the 2000 overbid. so you would get back 3000 + interest
