Breaking News! Man buys car without researching what he needed then films a KZbin video to demonstrate this
@RichManPoorMotors7 ай бұрын
I have research it that’s why it’s a 43kw charger not a 22kw but it’s just a runaround for me, and fits into my needs. if someone was buying it for there main car then the lack of charging speed and options would be a big problem same with leaf and other early gen ev’s

@@RichManPoorMotors so you have made an entire video about how you can't use certain chargers, even though you bought the car knowing in advance that you wouldn't be able to use them and that in reality that would not be an issue for you? I'm really struggling to see the point you are trying to make here

@@where_is_mark when i purchased the car the charging stations at mcDonalds, starbucks, and the Moto services were not even built, the car is charge at home and is just used for local journeys, making use of the running cost of £1.50 per 90 miles, but i have had people who haven't bought electric EV yet, ask me questions about charging, questions about range, questions about performance and a lot of those will be purchasing a used car around 7 years old. My point as was shown in the video and to inform and help those who don't know, is to check what charger you have in your car before buying otherwise you might not be able to charge easily on route, i showed that CCS is a lot more popular than CHADdeMO and if you have CHADdeMO then there are less chargers and these also might be used by someone with CCS, while there are other CCS chargers free,

Buy a car which has CCS plug. CCS chargers are everywhere and the CCS can charge DC and AC type 2. They are everywhere and every EV sold today in EU has the CCS plug as well as cables for Type 2 charging.

CHADdeMO was still the standard leaf connection ccs was a option at least in 2023 when I was looking at buying one, not everyone is able to purchase new

Employees of the likes of Councils, NHS, etc were issued Zoe with just AC charging and recently. These cars go on the Used EV Market and people end up with something without CCS. But that actually suits many.
@RichManPoorMotors7 ай бұрын
As shown in my latest video Zoe was ac charging only until ccs was offered as a option or spec upgrade from the standard model

I have a 2nd gen leaf and a KIA EV6 and I could also have charged at any of them that you showed. Even the Tesla chargers are now beginning to open up to non Tesla motors. can you not get an adapter for the Zoe so that it works with other charger ports? I have not looked myself but I remember seeing that teslas offer an adapter so that theirs can work on non Tesla chargers. cheers J

In 2024, this is really just a zoe problem rather than a EV problem, though isn't it? Up until recently I had a leaf, it's only in the last year I've noticed Chademo numbers going down and CCS replacing them, but there's still thousands around that will likely outlast any gen 1 and 2 leaf - The type 2 only option on the Zoe was always going to limit it to home charging, even when it came out that was obvious - When 100% of new cars are ccs in europe and have been for a couple of years (and ccs > chademo adapters exist now) really the question to ask when buying an ev is "does it have ccs and if not are you 100% sure you will ONLY charge at home?".
@RichManPoorMotors7 ай бұрын
2024 bmw 330e still type 2 although as a hybrid you would only charge at work or at home, 2024 Mercedes c300e hybrid ccs, kangoo van type 2, and a couple of others I’ve seen at charging stations but most are going ccs
@andrasivacson79107 ай бұрын
This video is deliberately misleading and spreading misconceptions. You could have summarized this video with: CCS standard has won, buy yourself a car with ccs plug and you will be fine. The industry is also considerate and does not leave folks in the dark that put their early money on the Japanese standard. They still went with Nissan’s messed up charging solution even though the writing was on the wall for the last 10 years.
@RichManPoorMotors7 ай бұрын
How is demonstrating that the car used can’t be charged at the charging stations shown is misleading. If someone can’t afford a £20,000 plus used electric car then purchasing something like a Zoe or leaf may be there option, without informing them of the charging options then they may purchase something they regret
