By December 1940 Shipyards in Richmond sprang up along the waterfront, building 747 Liberty Cargo Ships for the war. This was more ships being produced than any other shipyard in the country, making Richmond a huge role in the war effort! So just remember Richmond, CA was a good place before.....

I get it that there's a lot of working class people there and some necessity. In general, the people there are respectful and don't mess with you unless you mess with them. It's like that in most cities though.

@@redlaptopboi yes and different eras were different. i've been here since the 70s. its nice now compared to how things used to be, but even back then you'd be ok if you minded your business. @@slick4613 Richmond California is one of the most surveillance city in America. Due to the drug and "gangs" of the 90's and early 2000's. The city of Richmond became a "Grant hore" and started creating numerous "none profits" organizations to take away the power of the community of self choice. Most of the projects ran out of funding due to greed from the city leaders and project organizations. A shell of what could have been is left, trying to overcome poverty and inflation. In the past fear was created to over take the community of its power. Now it's inflation and the lack of resources. Big brother can't fix the problem they created. A money pit saturated with xenophobia.
