Like others have said "A Little Bit More", When You're In Love With a Beautiful Woman", "Sexy Eyes", "Only Sixteen", "Freakin' At The Freakers Ball", you can't go wrong with any of them and most of their songs were written by Shel Silversteen, the same guy that wrote "A Boy Named Sue", as well as the kid's books "The Giving Tree" and "Where the Sidewalk Ends".

You may not believe it at first...but yes, it is the same band. But coming out of the "Free Love" movement of the 60s and the "Wife-Swapping" movement of the 70s, no this is just how it was. You could go up to a groovy chick and say things like "How about a pizza and a shag?'" and that's what would happen. A very different time, kids. A very different time.

Dr. Hook's whole catalogue is worth listening to. Two songs that show each end of their spectrum are the soft and sensitive "A little bit more" and the 'Party on!' vibe of "Freakin' at the freakers ball". Both amazing in their own ways. And everything in the middle is just as good! My personal favorite though has got to be 'Sylvia's Mother'. Dennis Locorriere is the lead here. Ray Sawyer (cowboy hat & patch) sang mainly backing vocals but sang lead on their hit "The Cover of the Rolling Stone". My favorite is "Sylvia's Mother". This song can be found in what is called the 'Soft rock" genre. "When you're in love with a beautiful woman" is another song I think you'll enjoy too but there is another called ""Cover of The Rolling Stone" as in The Rolling Stone magazine. sung by the other band member Ray Sawyer the one with the straw hat, you get to see him take the mic. When I was a kid they would play this on the radio and at the skating rink for couples only skate .Imagine how cool it was skate dancing around the rink to this song .. Hearing and feeling the flow along with the breeze in your face is a feeling that you would/could never forget .. Or being out cruising around just as the sun is setting with your girl/woman sitting next to you in the car with the windows down feeling the evening breeze .. You have to put this on a thumb drive or blue tooth it in your car .. and go for a drive around sunset , roll your windows down and turn the tunes way up .. You will see what I mean .. This is one reason why the 70's and 80's were magical times .. We made it magical even without drugs or drinks .. Music , mood and memories ... Most all of the music from that time was made for 4 things dancing , driving and chilling ... hooking up/making babies .....
