So many great Dr. Hook songs. Like others have said "A Little Bit More", When You're In Love With a Beautiful Woman", "Sexy Eyes", "Only Sixteen", "Freakin' At The Freakers Ball", you can't go wrong with any of them and most of their songs were written by Shel Silversteen, the same guy that wrote "A Boy Named Sue", as well as the kid's books "The Giving Tree" and "Where the Sidewalk Ends".

It will be hilarious seeing a reaction to 'The Cover of Rolling Stone'...especially having an expectation to the band after seeing this. You may not believe it at first...but yes, it is the same band. Dennis Locorriere always had one of the voices that surprised me the most, as when you saw him, you didn't expect that voice...but his voice was always so soothing. 'When You're in Love With a Beautiful Woman' is probably my favorite song by them, a big hit of theirs...but all the songs folks have mentioned are worth listening to.

I know you guys are amazed at how bold and smooth the pick-up lines seemed to be. In this day and age he would have been labeled as a creeper or worse. But coming out of the "Free Love" movement of the 60s and the "Wife-Swapping" movement of the 70s, no this is just how it was. You could go up to a groovy chick and say things like "How about a pizza and a shag?'" and that's what would happen. A very different time, kids. A very different time.

One of my all time favorite bands. It’s about time guys. I’ve seen them live several times. Dennis’ voice is so smooth and he does such sexy love songs. Ray (eye patch) does lead vocals too. The bands styles of songs can be quite different and you will be surprised. Sexy, funny, raunchy lol. I love them all. People have suggested some really good ones. Not sure if Years From Now has been suggested yet. It is quite touching and was even used as a wedding song by people I know. Please give them more air time. As always. Love you guys.

Dr. Hook's whole catalogue is worth listening to. Two songs that show each end of their spectrum are the soft and sensitive "A little bit more" and the 'Party on!' vibe of "Freakin' at the freakers ball". Both amazing in their own ways. And everything in the middle is just as good! My personal favorite though has got to be 'Sylvia's Mother'. They are one of the few bands where you can pick a song at random and be totally happy with your choice!

I saw Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show many times in concert, on occasion they'd invite the audience back to the hotel bar after the concert & the music would continue.... Dennis Locorriere is the lead here. Ray Sawyer (cowboy hat & patch) sang mainly backing vocals but sang lead on their hit "The Cover of the Rolling Stone". My favorite is "Sylvia's Mother". Children's author, Shel Silverstein, who wrote "Where the Sidewalk Ends" & "The Giving Tree", wrote many of their hits. He also wrote "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash.

Fun fact, Rolling Stone Magazine was the epitome of making it in the music world. To be on the cover meant you had made it! Their song Cover of the Rolling Stone did it for them. They are the ONLY band in history to get on the cover simply by singing about it! This band had a lot of fun songs (One Step from the Jungke to the zoo and be sure to check out the yodel song! Lol) as well as many beautiful songs (Carry me Carrie, Sylvia's mother). I've seen them perform 6 times. Sadly Ray Sawyer has passed on (the eye patch guy) and he did sing lead quite often as well

Just thought I'd mention, the background whispering vocals, were The Cherry Sisters... who did a lot of backing vocals in the 70s. Always loved them. I don't usually watch reaction videos, but I like you guys, gonna keep checking you out! And, I've always loved Dr. Hook. I'm a big music fan, and used to be a DJ... Lead singer is Dennis Lacorriere. Thanks for this video!

His voice is what a super smooth whiskey would sound like. I still love this song so much! This is one of those songs you dance to in the kitchen after the kiddos are asleep!

The mother of one of the group used to have an antique/curio shop in Mystic, CT. She has several of the Gold albums up her walls. This was always a fun group and I enjoyed their stuff.

Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show once did a concert at which the warmup band failed to show. Dr. Hook and the band went onstage wearing only jeans and tee shirts, pretended to be the warm up band and played a set of old fifties songs. The fans started yelling “We want Dr. Hook!”. They finished the set, changed clothes and came back out as themselves to loud cheers from the audience. Greatest joke ever!

Yes! I am so glad you loved this song! I haven't heard this song for so many years I nearly forgot about it but remembered those words as soon as the video played! This song can be found in what is called the 'Soft rock" genre. "When you're in love with a beautiful woman" is another song I think you'll enjoy too but there is another called ""Cover of The Rolling Stone" as in The Rolling Stone magazine. sung by the other band member Ray Sawyer the one with the straw hat, you get to see him take the mic. I think the singer of this song you reacted to; I can only think his name might be Rod if I am not mistaken. You two will get a kick out of that other song "Cover of The Rolling Stone" song, I think! Enjoyed your reaction! ☮💕

Dr. Hook was one of my fave bands in the 70's, the lead singer Dennis Locorriere is from NJ (where I live now) and he now lives in the UK (where I am from)! There have been about 8 or more in the band over the years, their first hit in the UK was "Sylvia's Mother", lots of other great hits too including my favourite "A Little Bit More" which is my favourite, you will love them.

When I was a kid they would play this on the radio and at the skating rink for couples only skate .Imagine how cool it was skate dancing around the rink to this song .. Hearing and feeling the flow along with the breeze in your face is a feeling that you would/could never forget .. Or being out cruising around just as the sun is setting with your girl/woman sitting next to you in the car with the windows down feeling the evening breeze .. You have to put this on a thumb drive or blue tooth it in your car .. and go for a drive around sunset , roll your windows down and turn the tunes way up .. You will see what I mean .. This is one reason why the 70's and 80's were magical times .. We made it magical even without drugs or drinks .. Music , mood and memories ... Most all of the music from that time was made for 4 things dancing , driving and chilling ... hooking up/making babies .....
