It's still just another "NOT Green At All"extremely impractical, EV aka Golfcart. Mass produced EV's are not only, NOT GREEN, but very inconvenient and highly impractical for long trips. The most disturbing and least obvious Cons of EV's are the frequent charging cycles. They already cause thousands more tons of Fossil Fuels at the Power-Plants to be burned and cause those plants and Nuclear Power Plants to release excessive amounts of heat into the atmosphere. Already the EV's cause the Nuclear Plants to use up hundreds of tons more nuclear rods, thus creating hundreds of tons of excessive Radioactive/Nuclear waste every year that has to be contained and buried somewhere. The extra load on the electrical grid has caused many EV owners, that paid extra for "Super-Charging" on their EV's to experience the Super-Charge function at the station is disabled. What, did everyone think, the electricity needed to charge these EV's, is provided without any monetary or environmental costs?? Not to mention, some of the largest Lithium deposits, mined in Australia by the Chinese mining companies, are already severely depleted. How many more tons of fossil-fuels is being used, just to power the equipment at the Lithium mines? People's concerns over fossil-fuels are completely backwards. The Consumer Electronics industry earns much larger profits per ton of Lithium used in the batteries needed to power all the small devices we use everyday. With the extremely EXCESSIVE amount of Li-Ion cells that are needed just to make an EV move (An EV needs 7,778 21700 Li-Ion cells x 68grams each = 1,160lbs), I foresee in just 5-10yrs a Worldwide ban of using Lithium to power EV's larger than an Electric Bicycle. Also the power factor for 1 gallon of gasoline is 4500. The best Tesla battery unit, made up of the latest and most efficient Lithium Ion cells, can barely scratch into a 900 power factor. The internal Combustion Engine is way more efficient and more "GREEN" than any EV has ever been. Remember, Elon's dream project is not Tesla, it's SpaceX and he being as brilliant as he is, needed and created a successful cash-cow (TESLA) by betting on how mentally devolved and ignorant the dumb environmentalists are so he could fund SpaceX. If I can foresee how bad and how dirty EV's really are, then Elon and others already know it.
@MAGGOT_VOMIT2 жыл бұрын
Ugggh!! All that dirty extra coal burning at the powerplants to keep these Not-So-Green ev's charged, still has me SMDH. Not to mention, with these E-ORV's like the Rivian and E-Hummer, when you're outa juice in the wilderness, you're out of friggin' juice!! No rescue!! No way to carry extra 'Lectric Juice nor for anyone to bring you a 5gal can of 'Lectric-juice. The VOLT-DOLTS will have to decide which member of their party they'll have to cannibalize to survive. Towing with them cuts your range to about 60mi. No thanks!! Us dino-fuel off-roaders always bring Jerry Cans of extra fuel. Where's your Jerry Cans of "Lectric Juice"?? Ya might make it out if one ORV out of a thousand that drives by, is willing to give up their huge GASOLINE powered generator and 20gal of extra fuel. Make sure ya camp sites are always on windy Bluffs so your Windmill will charge your sidewalk-brownie. I'm sure after you've paid the $3k-$10k Vehicle Recovery bill upfront, "Earl" will be extra gentle dragging that EV out of the canyons with his war surplus tank. In other words, ya need to keep your Asphalt Queens close to the house.American Indians everywhere will be shedding tears for all the "STRANDED FOR LIFE" ev's that are littering the canyons and the rest of the world, like McDonald's bags. BTW, ya might want to NEVER EVER use that Electric Winch on your E-ORV or use it, very very sparingly. Winches are the worst gluttons of 'Lectric Juice. 😂🤣 If EV's don't make you SMH and feel depressed for the future, you're the type of people that would get one leg caught in a Jaw-Trap and then chew off your other 3 unrestrained limbs.

*DESIGN :* If they differentiated the colours inside, it would highlight some of the design features. For example, the door top trims link to the dash and if they were a different colour would highlight just how uncluttered it all is. Also, the rear side view that Rich mentions to me looks very like an old Citroen DS ( able to see the side of the rear glass ). Looks *very* classy. I wish them well. Also I thought the *XPENG* was fantastic !

They just need to get a product out first, thats the sort of stuff you bring out in a refresh or future model years. You always want to start basic and work your way up rather than go bankrupt trying to do too much too soon.
@Czechbound2 жыл бұрын
@@brianm.595 Good point. I think EV's will converge on shorter range and longer range cars. They won't be able to differentiate so much on drivetrain/ handling - that will be commoditised. So design will be the key differentiator. Styling, software, and buttons vs no buttons will be key.

As a Tesla shareholder I want Lucid to succeed. There will be things they do that are better than Tesla and vice versa and that competition will produce better cars for everyone faster than a single manufacturer with a monopoly on the entire market. Thanks for the review RR.
