This kinda stuff really gets me thinking. Internet is weird. Digital storage is weird. On the one hand, everything you do and say here is recorded and could be there forever. Whats funny to me is that over 8 years ago this was the first map that I had ever loaded into in tf2. I downloaded the game and immediately got an invite from a guy that I had recently played through Portal 2's co-op campaign with and accepted it. At first I pick scout since its the first class anyone will see when they first load in, but I remember distinctly that I picked sniper afterwards because I kept getting killed by them and noticed that there were huge sight lines that I could use. I never knew that such a strange map like this had any kind of history to it but its cool to think back to those older days and simpler times.

Great video dude, hope it gets more views. Orange maps occupy most of my playtime in tf2. My most nostalgic moment while playing on them was a night in which the entire server was talking in the voicechat about tv shows from our childhoods. Before of that there was a guy which was hella drunk that night (actually a wonderful dude, I even “gifted” him a genuine hat a year later) ranting about obscure Argentine soda he saw on a kiosk (the server is located in Argentina btw) and later he tried to stablish the USSR 2 on the server while Russian music was playing in the background. So I bought the disk of it, rushed home to the family pc, and booted it up. I loaded into the first server that had a decent amount of people and that was cp_Orange. Also I really fondly remember some of the spin off orange maps for their unique and interesting design! One of my favourite memories of CP orange actually happened a few months ago, despite being a long time TF2 player. It was a 100% Critz server and I was duelling a sniper right on the court yard by mid. Half way through the fight I felt like I was being stalked on my flank. That same kind of creeping feeling that you're being followed. I turned to my right and saw a enemy soldier, a good 30 ft away from me, just watching me. We locked eyes for a while, until he started to do the Coffee taunt. His soldier managed to utter only "I love-" before getting totally and thoroughly domed by a Sydney sleeper sniper from across the map. I really got the sense that the soldier was a shy admirer, and was waiting to confess his love to me, only to get killed before he could finish his words. This game never ceases to make me expirience bizarre and unexplainable phenomena.

It has mostly fixes for respawn problems: now you can crouchjump into respawn, it has team barriers and respawn class-change mesh fixed. Also the ledges in front of tower are symmetrical, and a bunch of medkits/ammo thrown around. Exe name stands for a small russian clan "ExE" I happened to get in, and even moderated their orange server for a bit. Ahh, good old times.

Man I used to play a crit server as sniper everyday to get better, this map made me an absolute god with sniper, plus the server was super fun and relaxed. Man I miss this game, haven't touched it in years

Yepp, nostalgia. And my friends at middleschool who I played tf2 with, allways insisted on playing on this map, and I later relised the actual casual valve server were a thing xP But yeah, I had fun with this server too, I'm not going back to it. But it was def. a less caotic place as for a noob that I was back in my youth. I have a neutral feeling towards the map itself, but I will neverforget it and it's earned my nostalgia points. or whatever, hope you enjoyed this read Mr Richter :) PS: Great video ^^

i love it since one of the first experiences on this map for me was dropping from the tower and backstabbing a pyro

I was literally thinking of this map like 2 days ago but couldn’t figure out why and where and BOOM pops on my recommended list on KZbin. Mind=Blown

Orange was definitely a nostalgic map for me because for the first two years I was into tf2, it and 1fort was the only two maps my pc could run lmfao

I remmeber going through a phase back in 2014 or so where id look for cp orange maps but with added routes and such, finding really cool cp orange maps with more towers, tunnels, full on border, different spawn, everything, it was such an amazing thing to experience considering how many servers there used to be

Core memory unlocked. I think this was the first map I ever played in TF2 back in 2007/2008

Orange and cp 2towers are some of the earliest memories I have of playing tf2, I remember my time there way better than on any official map, partly because I played them more for some reason but it also goes to show how memorable even a crappy map can be.

Oh man I remember being apart of a really good CP_Orange map community for years! From like 2010-2017, then they shut down the server, sad times
