Actually, I do think that it was good of Rick to tell someone. The whole episode he's been encouraged to open up and so he opened up to Morty about the truth... and then Morty instantly made him regret doing so and caused him to regress by telling everyone and making Rick seem like the bad guy for doing what he's been encouraged to do the ENTIRE EPISODE!

The reasons I've liked this episode is because I shows the heart, sympathy and morals of rick. Showing us that even the loneliest most horrible people can show empathy and find solace in the fact that they are not alone even tho he kills himself rick tried and dick everything he could because he understands how much he loves his daughter that he knew the piss guy wouldn't want his daughter to see him like that. I wanna take a step back to a really tiny, overlooked detail in this episode. When Rick tries to revive Pissmaster by healing his injuries and resuscitating his brain, it doesn't work. The smartest man in the world who can literally do anything (including making a mechanical suit for that harnesses an orb of raw energy that he has never had experience handling) failed at the simple premise of bringing back a dead man. And this is not a one off situation...this exact scenario happened with Ruben and he simply admitted he hit a wall and gave up once Ruben died saying, "I can't cure death." Viewers often say that his ego is so massive that he can't relate to the concept of limits, but I can't imagine how painful it must be for a nearly omniscient being to be forced to come to terms with the fact that there is a problem in the universe that he cannot solve, no matter how much he knows about it. Rick can probably find ways to avoid the issue, like finding a method to live forever, but when he sees death...Rick simply quits. Either he believes it is out of his power to solve that issue, or that solving it will somehow defy his perspective of how the universe around him works.

@garuelx8627 Right? Makes me think he totally can if he wanted, there's just something that keeps him from crossing that boundary. The writers even point out how annoyed he gets when someone he is trying to save actually dies. Like with BirdPerson, he isn't surprised he was brought back by the Federation, but also seemed very distraught that he died. That doesn't sound like the response of someone who knows he can fix the problem easily. With Pissmaster, he shows he is willing to put on a show of bringing someone back, but he tries methods he probably knows have a low probability of success. It just seems like death, for some reason, is a personal taboo for Rick.

Here's one concept of how he could cure dead: he can make a fancy gadget that runs time backward in a specific area, effectively repairing the damages somebody's body might have edured. We know he can do time travel, but the reason that doesn't happen is because he doesn't like it, and logically time travel removes the point of the story as he could just go back in time, kill rick prime, effectively rewriting the timeline and living happily his life without his original family dying.

He did bring him back to life technically, but I guess his brain was permanently damaged since he must have been dead a while. Pissmaster was gone (rip) and all that was left was some activated neurons. He didn't even TRY to revive a dead Rueben, but he DID try to bring back PM, probably knowing he was too far gone.

You really need to watch “The Venture Bros.” If you like cringe villains, adult humour and super heroes and villains in mundane situations, it’s right up your alley. The show has deep lore as well. Season one is a bit of a slog but the show aged like a fine wine.

@@Birthday888 Yes and no, for Rick it's a good thing because he's opening up, he's never put his faith in Morty and let him know personal stuff, or if he does it's few and far between. People do need to dump, it only becomes a problem when you dump too much, which hey maybe that will be a theme going forward. Rick opening up too much and it overwhelming the family. Also what the fear hole was about, but for Morty, him letting it all out. You need people to rely on to vent, as long as you do it in a healthy way, and you need to know to control yourself so that doesn't get out of control. Yeah except some people don't have money to do that, and Rick was seeing a therapist, who TOLD HIM to open up more... sooo is it her fault that Rick did this now? Is it on her because Rick is opening up? Along with sometimes therapists don't work. Take it from me personally, whose dealt with cheating, child hood abuse, suicide both from friends and been down that thought road myself, depression, among many other things. Therapists don't work for everyone, I've been to psychs, therapists, and there are some things I didn't tell them, such as my suicidal tendencies, because I believed that was normal (the thinking of it, not the attempts, like thinking what if I just drove my vehicle off this bridge, but not acting on it), along with fear of going into some loony bin. I however realized that wasn't normal after I opened up to people I could trust. Even then, my depression, abuse, and other things, it only helps in the moment, when you're deep in depression, you reset the next day after you've gone to bed. Therapists and psychologists, didn't help, pills didn't help. Why? Cause some people are different, and need someone they can trust in their personal circle to help them climb out of their hell. You need people in your life that can offer that hand to help you climb out of the hole, that is a fact... however yes, you individually need to know boundaries, otherwise you may pull them in with you, or ask for help too much they might not offer their hand to pull you out. Only so much someone else can do, at the end you need to be able to put your own effort in, otherwise there is no hope. I don't disagree, especially with personal dealing, Morty at his age shouldn't be burdened with that baggage, but he already has it, and is the only one that could understand all the things Rick has been through because of all their journeys. Is it right? No doesn't mean that at all Morty SHOULDN'T BE IN THAT SITUATION IN THE 1ST PLACE, but that he is, he truly is the only one Rick could rely on. Especially since some stuff like murdering Dr Wong cannot help with, of which was that in the same episode? Can't recall what that episode was, and Rick says then he's not dead he's sleeping or something. So even a therapist there are still limits on what you can vent. Summer, Beth, Space Beth, Jerry none of them would understand what Rick is going through, even Bird Person his best friend at this point wouldn't be able to help, sad to say, but Morty is the only reliable source for him. Therapists and psychs can be good, I'm not saying they can't but 1 there's only so much they can do, 2 especially if you yourself aren't comfortable with them, 3 pills can be good, but only to a certain extent and then can have the opposite effect in overdose cases. At the end of it all, therapists and psychs aren't for everyone, nor can they help everyone, and some might not be able to afford them, not that Rick would have issue he could probably turn water into a god nugget and toss it to her for his session, but speaking realistically, it is really expensive with or without insurances too. Saying a therapist or psych is the end all be all is not right, because there are limits on several fronts to their capabilities, especially since again it's not for everyone.

I would choose the fish bottom since the fish top will instantly die since they have gills. I could eat the fish top first since they are out day 1 but I can’t eat a literal person’s amount of fish in one sitting and virtually no way to properly preserve the meat they will rot which will smell and could attract a variety of lung eating bacteria or such. Not to mention the loneliness will drive me insane since my head already has enough mental health problems which could cause me to hallucinate and accidentally poison me should I accidentally eat the rotting corpse. If I'm alone on an uninhabited island, I'm picking the mermaid with the human top half. She is far more useful. I actually like the episode. Rick and Morty has been my shit since the pilot. But this episode has slightly shown a lighter side of Rick and a darker side of Jerry. Morty is just a loud mouth who couldn't keep that shit to himself when Rick told him. But I love how Rick ended it by telling Morty in the same fashion he always does. Rick is fucking hilarious. He wasn't just born into the god business, he fucking earned it.
