I think Jerry will save Rick because at the end of the season 2 finale, Jerry is told he has a "function" (job) but we are never told what the job is. What if Jerry has a job as a guard in the prison where Rick is?

+TheWylde789 Yeah, I saw the Secret Ticket Video, and recently saw the update video by "The Save Point Guild" which came out a week after I posted this, and yes his secret ticket theory seems like a strong one. Dan & Justin sort of confirmed it, but then with that email about how they need to change the script for S3E1, well Idk, we'll see how it all unfolds. I think K-Michael is a decent contender to save Rick, but we'll see. I'm excited for it!

My theory, they're going to go back to season one the episode where Rick Makes Morty's dog intelligent and they eventually take off to their own planet. Snuffles come to earth on a visit and see how miserable Morty is without Rick. Realizing it's because of Rick that the dogs have intelligence; and because he will do anything to make Morty happy, Snuffles and his army; (with the help of a fifth column of meeseeks in the prison posing as covert guards, ) will go to the intergalactic prison to break Rick out of jail. But you find out at the end of the season that Evil Morty was the one who sent Snuffles to earth to put things into motion. And the reason he wants' Rick out of prison is because he is working with the aliens who were trying to get Ricks dark matter fuel recipe and as long as rick is in prison the formula is out of reach.

Interesting point. Some of the gag-references may be Overt; but the casting of actors/actresses and having them resemble their character design or typecast the character to portray a role that the actor is well known for is subtlety. Also there is countless subtle details in the back/fore-ground; like the green infected rocks; random other characters (a Meeseeks in background) the continuity-crack in the driveway, or even that "Secret Ticket" theory that's out there. But I must admit R&M does contain profound layering and complexity which is not common even in the very best of the entertainment industry.

Season 3 episode 1 is out now. I told you Rick / Himself would save himself! :D (Morty & Summer were involved, The Council of Ricks was heavily involved in S3E1, Jerry didn't help at all, Mr. Meeseeks did make a brief appearance as a captured prisoner). Also, did anyone else feel like S3E1 (Tho AMAZING) was a bit of like, Super super super- like a TON of fan-service? It almost felt like an episode written by the fans themselves, lol XD (still amazing tho)!

My number one is Jerry. Here's the theory: The Smith family (mainly Beth) is grieving for the loss of Rick.. and Jerry sees this. Remember how at the end of Season 2 Jerry is offered a job? Why would they add this in if the job was no relevance? Well, Jerry gets a job at the prison and after some thought, he gets some meseeks to help him get Rick out. This could also be plausible because Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon confirmed Mr Meseeks will be returning.

Evil Morty is C137 Rick's original Morty (the one from the pictures and flashbacks) that Rick taught things to and who became "cocky" and abandoned, thus has a grudge against Rick (see constant mentions about how a smart and cocky Morty is a bad thing in both seasons). Or..... the bounty hunter killed by Morty comes to save Rick since they showed the other timeline possibilities where he wasn't killed and they played at the arcade instead. Or..... infinite other theories, like you mentioned. lol. I effin love this show.

There is a non canonical comic of Rick & Morty in which they are thrown in a galactic prison. It is later revealed that Rick helped in the construction and stocked it with everything he would need to escape. It is not canon, but I still doubt that they would use the same gag to get him out.

Cinqmil it has to be Krombopulos Michael! There was so much set up. First, in C-137 Rick's universe he is not dead. Second, he is a specialist for infiltration and Fart was a high security prisoner just as Rick and he easily made it to Fart. And finally, this would solve the Mr Poopy Butthole question, as we could finally learn that he is from another universe. It's kind of simple: there is one universe where KM is dead and mr poopy butthole exists (we have seen two episodes in this universe) and one were me poopy butthole doesn't exist, but KM is alive. Or the smiths could just ask Mr Meeseeks for help.

I have two things to say: A. I think that evil Morty is Morty C-137 who Rick told to much and accidentally left on a planet (in the oppening credits with the space-frogs). Rick went to a different demension where Rick had been gone for 20 years (possibly dead) and made that Morty his keeping him very stupid as we see through multiple episodes. This explains how Rick had memories of baby Morty and cried over them despite not being there for 20 years. This theory links up with the 'Secret of the Ticket' theory and explains alot. B. My speculation of the escape for Rick is a combination of the mentioned ones like - Unity, close friends, Mr Meeseeks (commanded by the Smith family) and some other characters we have met along the way.

Hello there Demonic Panda (love the name), Others have asked about my not mentioning K-Michael in this video, the biggest reason is that the "Save Point Guild" channel made his wonderful theory-video on K-Michael about a month before I got around to releasing this video and I felt that mentioning K-Michael as being someone who could save Rick may come off as a repeat of an idea that was already out there in a significant fashion. Also this is quite a small channel (still is) and I I truly didn't expect this video to get any viewership or come up in search results; so this flood of comments and viewership has certainly caught me off guard, but has also been a pleasant surprise :)

The council that has now taken over control of earth seeks out Jerry to present him with the reward money for reporting Rick, Beth becomes extremely upset by this and along with Morty and Summer go to break Rick out of prison. They fail, but low and behold Jerry comes through, spending the reward money on the solution to save Rick and his family. The reason for Jerry doing this is the burden of guilt placed on him after recalling the speech he gave to the family that unbeknownst to him prompted Rick to leave. He feels this is the only way to prove his love to Beth and his Loyalty to the family.

You should write for the show man, that's really thoughtful material! I really love the banter / intolerance Rick & Jerry have for each other, but I love the idea of their fate(s) being intertwined somehow. I really think an episode of Jerry & Rick having to work together as their lives depended on it, would make for a hilariously awesome episode! Dialogue would be like: Rick: "Jerry you dip-ass moron, I wish you were dead!" Jerry: "Rick you pompous ass, I wish you were dead!" Hey Ell, I'm glad you've been around since my earlier days (I know you've also been very supportive of my channel, and I can't thank you enough for all of that), I definitely hear what you're saying, and it's definitely an interest of mine to expand my archive of pop-culture video-essays. I made a post(s) about what's been going on with the channel via V&I channel site/FB page; I've basically been forced through circumstances beyond my control to have to put the channel on hiatus at least until December 2016. A narrative doesn't necessarily have to be the central plot; subplots or additional "narratives" can be told within any TV Show / Film / Book, and in the case of Rick & Morty every episode contains a plethora of subtle background or foreground information that add layers of depth to the show.

Just some tips and criticisms as a viewer -- It's a bit hard to focus on what you're saying due to the monotone voice. Add a bit more voice fluctuations here and there, maybe sprinkle in some comedy if it's not a cringe-fest. The content itself was great, and I love the theories, however that can't be the only thing keeping the viewer interested.

I hear ya.. Uhm.. I suppose many vloggers out there are more notorious for rambunctious or emphatic personalities, but I personally drew much of my inspiration and "aim" of my channel out of educational channels such as "Nerdwriter1" or "School Of Life". I suppose it'd be fair to say those channels are KZbin heroes of mine that I aspire to. For what it's worth, I weaved a bit of comedic elements in my "Liberal Arts" movie review I made, I'd be curious to hear your opinion on that video to compare and contrast with say this one. In general the goal of any of the videos in which I am speaking in, is to educate, ponder, muse, or just provide information / insight in some fashion. As such I suppose I'd feel out of touch with that goal if I were to be too whimsical and break the monotone. Also many KZbin-viewers are watching from countries where English is a second language, so the monotone may help those folks with auditory clarity. I've seen many complaints on "Vlogbrothers / Crashcourse" about how they talk too fast and even native English speakers make that complaint. Another thing is that for these video-essays, I write out a script and essentially just read off of it. Sometimes it takes several takes to do even just a paragraph because I'm very prone to slur my speech along or jumble my words. So yeahhh. But I'm aware of the Monotone and I have been considering ways to lighten the mood(s) of future videos. It may be easier to do funny things visually on screen, rather than being whimsical somehow while talking. Idk.
