Yes, they played it right! Almost every cover band including the Talking Heads get this song wrong. The pre-chorus (‘I wanna know…’) is 5 1/2 bars long, with the lyric ‘take me to the river’ starting on the last two beats of that section as a pick up. Beautiful and respectfully correct, thanks.
