I think they’re going a similar route of the last few Transformers movies. Bumblebee is a prequel to Transformers 2007, in that it aesthetically matches, But as the films go on, they begin rewriting history as they run into it. The trick being, as we get further away from those original films, Audiences will slowly forget about them, and pay attention to what’s happening now. It isn’t until you go back to those old movies, and try to connect the dots, that you see how inconsistent it is.

Yall are making this seem like it's some type of math equation. This won't be that difficult to understand. Peacemaker, Blue Beetle and Suicide Squad were already very loosely connected to the DCEU and with a few twist and turns can easily fit into the DCU. Characters from different franchises have recalled supposedly reconned or rebooted events tons of connected movie franchises have done it from Star Wars, Halloween, Power Rangers to the MCU. Just wait and see. DC is lucky in this situation because they have tons of background characters who can be the cause of this DCU "Rebirth". All it takes is Dr Manhattan to remove on piece of Peacemaker season 1 and everything will change and make sense.

I imagine Season 2 of Peacemaker will have some answer to this. Could be a situation where Peacemaker did kill Rick Flag but a different one. Maybe its a shared experience thing where it is a different universe and it happened in different ways but characters still have these connections from previous films in some form or fashion.

It’s likely going to be exactly the same cannon for the TSS characters minus quite literally one cameo scene at the end of the show. Not a plot hole. A shared history. We know Spidermans origin story. Didn't have to show it in the MCU. Just because an event happened in more than onr continuity doesnt mean its connected. Clearly he wanted to keep Peacemaker, as he should, but had to say s1 isnt canon because of things lilke Erza Miller showing up. Npt a plot hole, not complicated, shouldn't confuse anyone.

Here’s my ideaon how it would do this since they’re taking place in two different universes I would have the same peacemaker from season one, but I would have everyone in the main cast be in his dad‘s room where he keeps all his gadgets and stuff and maybe Rick Flagg senior is there And he’s trying to shoot everyone, but everyone’s taking cover and he shoots the control panel that brings the room into the dimension of the house. It malfunctions and they get tossed into the DCU without knowing

Imo James Gunn’s stuff always felt separate from the DCEU since the beginning. They kind of ruined it by having Ezra and Momoa in it and I know they had Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Kinnemans Flag, but they felt like different versions of the characters anyways. Multiverse 🤷‍♂️. So I’m not really bothered. I’m sure when we actually watch the show then we can see how it differs from the the main universe

I feel like James Gunn is only doing this all because he knew how much we loved the Suicide Squad film and is just doing that so that he can bring back characters from that movie.
