She was running and singing in heels while emphasizing how she wasn't very nice, echoing Rick's statement, " You were cold as ice." It was an example of call and response used in Black culture and religious practice for interaction and emphasis. Teena Marie, Lady T, was an afcionado of Black culture - someone who truly appreciated and understood its meaning, history, and application, unlike any other white person ever. That's why she was called the Ivory Queen, and it was a well-deserved title ❤.
